    • PURPOSE:To surely take out cut sheets of paper one by one from a paper feed cassette and feed each taken-out sheet of paper, by bringing a feed belt into frictional contact with the cut sheet of paper in the cassette to make the pushed area of the cut sheet of paper large. CONSTITUTION:A solenoid 9c is energized to tilt a paper feed bracket 7a to bring the front edge portion of a cut sheet of paper 2 into contact with a feed belt 11. A motor is then driven to revolve the belt 11 in a direction H through a friction roller 16 so that the cut sheet of paper in contact with the belt inside a paper feed cassette 7 is sent in the direction H over a claw by the friction between the cut sheet and the belt. The feed belt 11 is revolved further so that the cut sheet of paper 2 is sent to a prescribed position on a table 19. After that, the rotation of the friction roller 16 and the revolution of the feed belt 11 are stopped. The cut sheet of paper 2 is thus set in the prescribed position.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain a sheet material feeding device which has better separation performance and carrying performance, and an image forming device.SOLUTION: The sheet material feeding device includes: an endless belt which is formed of a dielectric, stretched over between an upstream roller and a downstream roller, and mounted on the top of a sheet bundle to face the sheet bundle where a plurality of sheet materials are loaded; and a voltage applying member for applying an alternating voltage to a surface of the endless belt to form an alternating charge pattern on the surface of the endless belt. Separate drive sources are disposed in the upstream roller and the downstream roller, and a control means controls the drive sources of the respective rollers individually for generating flexure on a paper contact face of the endless belt to become suitable for sticking paper when the paper is stuck fast. Furthermore, when the paper is carried, the paper contact face of the endless belt is imparted with a tension force to be planar so as to become suitable for the paper to be carried.
