摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an injector for gaseous fuel engines, capable of preventing carbon from entering the inside of the injector to be accumulated. SOLUTION: An air purge hole 20 connecting a fuel passage part 3 in an injector to the outside of the injector other than the fuel passage 3 connected to an intake pipe, is provided at substantially top of the injector. As shown in Fig., purged air can flow in the direction of the arrow mark 30 by providing the air purged hole 20. Thus, since carbon 10 cannot infiltrate the fuel passage part 3, no carbon is accumulated on a stopper face.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the operating efficiency by providing a determining means for determining the generation of foam in the fuel to be injected in an Atkinson' s cycle engine, and operating a foam generation restricting means so as to prevent the generation of foam when the generation of foam is detected. SOLUTION: In an Atkinson's cycle engine, of which compression starting time is delayed by shifting the closing timing of an intake valve 2 to a delay angle side so that a part of the air sucked into a cylinder 1 once is pushed back to the inside of an intake port 8, since the expansion volume becomes larger than the intake air volume, expansion energy by combustion can be recovered more as the kinetic energy, and energy efficiency of the engine can be improved. At this stage, an ECU 18 determines the fuel temperature and the existence of foam on the basis of the signal from an intake port sensor 9 and a fuel temperature sensor 16 or the like. In the case where the generation of foam is determined, fuel pressure is raised by a fuel pressure adjusting valve 14 so as to prevent the generation of foam in the fuel to be injected.

As a ball body 17 of metal is contained in the accumulation chamber 9a, it rolls in the accumulation chamber 9a by vibration of an engine to crush the combustion product 6, so fine grain of the combustion product 6 flows on a normal flow 4 of idle intake to be sucked to return to the intake chamber 5. The accumulation chamber 9a may be composed replaceable.

SOLUTION: The closing timing 41 of an intake valve is made to lag to a place close to a top dead center after it has passed through the bottom dead center of a suction stroke. For this reason, the quantity of intake air is substantially smaller than the quantity of exhaust gas so as to allow its operation to be transformed into an Atokinson cycle condition. In this case, if an engine is in a normal combustion mode, since its ignition timing comes in after the timing 45 when the whole quantity of fuel for one cycle has been injected, its ignition timing can scarcely be advanced, however in this case, a combustion mode combining pilot combustion 47 with main combustion 48 can be employed, and ignition can be performed at the ignition timing 43 after the small quantity of fuel required by pilot combustion 47 has been injected. Therefore, since the ignition timing is sharply advanced and stratified charge combustion is performed, low fuel consumption can be realized.
