    • PURPOSE:To stably produce the light diffracting plate having a large area by irradiat ing a film-like body consisting of a photopolymerizable compsn. with the light from a linear light source from a prescribed angle to polymerize the body, thereby forming a light control film having a prescribed film thickness. CONSTITUTION:A device for irradiation with UV rays is horizontally fixed with a bar-shaped mercury lamp 1 in the direction perpendicular to the progressing direction of a roll above the plane of a conveyor 3 and is further provided with a light shielding plate 2 above the plane of the conveyor 3. The installation position of the front end 5 of the light shielding plate 2 is held movable and adjustable in the progressing direction of the glass plate 4 coated with the resin compsn. The light shielding plate 2 is so set that the incident angle of the incident UV rays on the glass plate 4 attains about 0 deg. (alpha shown in Fig. approx.=0 deg.) at this time. The film-like body S on the glass plate 4 moving in the device by the conveyor 3 is irradiated with the UV rays at 0 deg. incident angle at all times. The film-like body S is polymerized and cured by the UV rays and the light diffracting plate laminated with the light control film S having 25 to 100mum film thickness on the glass plate 4 is obtd. The light diffracting plate having the large area of, for example, >=1m is stably produced extremely easily and inexpen sively in this way.

    • PURPOSE:To eliminate the restriction to a light control plate which is constant in the incident angle of scattered rays of light by hardening a film-like body while the film-like body is irradiated with the light of a light source at a prescribed irradiating angle over the full length of the film-like body. CONSTITUTION:A photopolymerizing material containing at least two kinds of compounds having polymerizing carbon-carbon binding in molecules and different refractive indexes is held on a film-like body 4 having a specific length and width. On the other hand, a light source 1 is positioned against the film-like body 4 in such a way that the length direction is extended across the length direction of the film-like body and an irradiating angle limiting means 2 which causes each part of the film-like body in the width direction to be irradiated with the light of the light source 1 at prefixed angles is provided between the light source 1 and film-like body 4. Then the film-like body 4 is relatively moved against the light source 1 and limiting means 2 in the length direction so that the film-like body 4 can be irradiated with the light of the light source 1 at prescribed irradiating angles and hardened. Therefore, a light control plate which is constant in the incident angle of scattered rays of light can be obtained continuously.

    • PURPOSE:To provide the titled absorber with a heat ray absorption characteristic and a light transmission control characteristic in combination by forming the absorber of a light transmission control layer which selectively scatters only the incident light within a prescribed angle range and allows the transmission of the incident light of angles except said angle and a heat ray absorptive layer having the see-through characteristic and heat ray absorption characteristic. CONSTITUTION:This absorber consists of the light transmission control layer 1 which selectively scatters only the incident light within the prescribed angle range and allows the transmission of the incident light of angles except said angle and the heat ray absorptive layer 2 having the see-through characteristic and heat ray absorption characteristic. The light transmission control layer 1 is more preferably the light control film or sheet obtd. by curing resin compsns. consisting of plural compds. having a difference in the respective refractive indices and having >=1 polymerizable carbon-carbon double bonds in the molecule. Both the heat ray absorption function and the light transmission control function having dependency of the transmission of light on angles are thereby imparted to the above-mentioned absorber.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a plastic light transmitting body having continuously changing refractive index by producing a parent material as a medium for diffusing a monomer from an almost perfectly linear polymer obtd. by selectively polymerizing only one functional group of a bifunctional monomer Ma by anionic polymn. CONSTITUTION:Anionic polymn. is initiated at a low temp. in a soln. of a monomer Ma where radical polymn. is hardly occurred. When the product is poured into a large amt. of methanol contg. a radical polymn. inhibitor at RT after terminating the polymn., a linear polymer Pa 1 produced by the polymn. of only one of the functional groups is deposited. A parent material Pa 2 is obtd. by cast molding, extrusion molding, or wet spinning, etc. the polymer after fuildizing the linear polymer Pa 1. The molded Pa 2 is heated while holding it in a liquid monomer Mb or in an atmosphere contg. the monomer Mb allowing the monomer Mb to diffuse into the inside of the parent material Pa 2 from its surface to cause copolymn. By subjecting the copolymer to sufficient heat treatment, a network polymer having a completed three- dimensional structure is formed. By this process, a plastic light transmitting body having high mechanical characteristics, weather resistance, suitability to polishing, and continuously changing refractive index from the surface to the inside is obtd.
