    • PURPOSE:To obtain the compsn. for volume phase type hologram recording which exhibits excellent optical characteristics, high sensitivity, etc., by incorporating at last two kinds of photopolymerizable monomers or oligomers having ethylenic unsatd. bonds, a thermoplatic polymer having solvent solubility, a photopolymn. initiator, and a photosensitizer into the above-mentioned compsn. CONSTITUTION:The compsn. for hologram recording contains the thermoplastic polymer having the solvent solubility in addition at least two kinds of the photopolymn. type monomers or oligomers. Namely, the polymn. shrinkage at the time of recording of the interference fringes of a hologram material is decreased as far as possible and the faithful recording of the interference fringes is executed by using the solvent- soluble thermoplastic polymer. Then, the volume phase type hologram which exhibits excellent light resistance, moisture resistance, etc., in addition to the excellent optical characteristics, such as high diffraction efficiency, high resolving power and high transmittance, is obtd. if a recording method is applied as the hologram recording material 8. The compsn. for hologram recording which can attain the high optical characteristics, such as high diffraction efficiency, and the high sensitivity is obtd. in this way.

    • PURPOSE:To stably produce the light diffracting plate having a large area by irradiat ing a film-like body consisting of a photopolymerizable compsn. with the light from a linear light source from a prescribed angle to polymerize the body, thereby forming a light control film having a prescribed film thickness. CONSTITUTION:A device for irradiation with UV rays is horizontally fixed with a bar-shaped mercury lamp 1 in the direction perpendicular to the progressing direction of a roll above the plane of a conveyor 3 and is further provided with a light shielding plate 2 above the plane of the conveyor 3. The installation position of the front end 5 of the light shielding plate 2 is held movable and adjustable in the progressing direction of the glass plate 4 coated with the resin compsn. The light shielding plate 2 is so set that the incident angle of the incident UV rays on the glass plate 4 attains about 0 deg. (alpha shown in Fig. approx.=0 deg.) at this time. The film-like body S on the glass plate 4 moving in the device by the conveyor 3 is irradiated with the UV rays at 0 deg. incident angle at all times. The film-like body S is polymerized and cured by the UV rays and the light diffracting plate laminated with the light control film S having 25 to 100mum film thickness on the glass plate 4 is obtd. The light diffracting plate having the large area of, for example, >=1m is stably produced extremely easily and inexpen sively in this way.
