    • PURPOSE:To sharply improve joinability of a sintering material and a ferrous metal by forming the material of the sintering member for inserting as cast-in in the ferrous metal member with ferrous eutectic alloy powder containing the specific concn. of P, Mo, C and Cr, respectively. CONSTITUTION:The material for sintering member is composed of ferrous eutectic alloy powder containing 0.8-2.0wt.% P, 3.5-7.0% Mo, 1.5-3.0% C, 5.0-10.0% Cr. By increasing containing% of P and Mo, at the time of inserting as cast-in in the ferrous molten metal, the liquid phase is much crystallized, to improve the joinability of the sintering member and the ferrous metal. A powder sheet piece 3 composing of the above ferrous eutectic alloy powder is sintered to the shape 3A as fittable to a mold by setting on a cam jig 4 having the prescribed forming curved surface, and this is fitted to two divided shell mold 5 and the molten ferrous metal is supplied to insert the sintered member 3A as cast-in. By this casting, the sintered member 3A and pig iron 6 is sintering-joined and after that, the necessary material working is executed. By this method, the sintered member having excellent density, toughness and heat shock resistance with no cracking, and the prescribed curved surface can be formed.

    • PURPOSE: To prevent the corrosion on the surface of a ferrous member and the formation of the coarser structure of a sintered layer by adhering a powder alloy sheet to the surface of the ferrous member and heating the same to form a liquid phase and to joint the sheet and member then subjecting the liquid phase part to a high alloying treatment then to normal sintering.
      CONSTITUTION: The powder alloy sheet 2 consisting of a wear resistant Fe-Mo-Cr eutectic alloy, etc. is adhered to the ferrous member 1 consisting of flake graphite cast iron, etc. and in the stage of subjecting the member and sheet to the heat treatment in the non-oxidizing atmosphere thereafter, the member 1 and the sheet 2 are first heated until the liquid phase enough to joint the two member is formed on the joint surface between the member 1 and the sheet 2, then the assembly is quickly cooled to convert the liquid phase part to the solid phase, thereby joining the two members. The assembly is then subjected to the high alloying treatment of the high melting point to generate a diffusion between the part converted to the solid phase and the metallic element around the same and is then subjected to the normal sintering to sinter the main part of the sheet 2 in the half liquid phase. The sheet 2 is thus securely sintered and joined to the member 1 without spoiling the wear resistance.
