    • PURPOSE:To keep the concn. of phosphorus in final treated water low by simultaneously removing the BOD, nitrogen compound and phosphorus compound in waste water by adding an insoluble phosphorus compound forming agent between the second aerobic tank and a sludge sedimentation tank when the ORP of the first anaerobic tank becomes a predetermined value or more. CONSTITUTION:In the simultaneous removal of the BOD, nitrogen compound and phosphorus compound in waste water, waste water and the return sludge from a sludge sedimentation tank are injected in the first anaerobic tank to be held for a predetermined time. Next, the mixture of both of them is supplied to the first aerobic tank to be subjected to aeration to control ORP within the range of +100 to -150mV. Further, an activated sludge mixed solution is supplied to the second anaerobic tank and aerated while a part of waste water is used as a hydrogen donor to be subjected to aeration to control ORP to the range of -50 to -150mV. Furthermore, the waste water is supplied to the second aeration tank to be subjected to aeration and BOD is decomposed by oxidation to remove nitrogen gas as gas bubbles. The ORP of the first anaerobic tank is measured and, when the measured value becomes -200mV or more, an insoluble phosphorus compound forming agent is added between the second aerobic tank and the sludge sedimentation tank.

    • PURPOSE:To recover ferrous salts and decompose organic matters, by a method wherein a structure with a slime or a bacteria-containing sludge adhered thereto is provided in a water-collecting pit for waste water exhausted from an iron and steel plant and containing water-soluble ferrous salts with pH not higher than 5. CONSTITUTION:A structure consisting of polyvinyl chloride made corrugated plates 6 arranged in parallel with the flowing direction of waste water at intervals of about 5cm was provided in the water-collecting pit 1 having an internal volume of about 600m , and waste water was passed through the pit 1 at a rate of about 10m /min. After about 2-3 months, it was observed that a brown slime was adhered to the surfaces of the corrugated plates 6 in a thickness of about 5mm.. In this condition, the concentration of ferrous ions in waste water is reduced from about 300-500mg/l on the inlet side to about 100-150mg/l on the outlet side, and the concentration of organic compounds such as an inhibitor used in pickling and additives used in plating is reduced from 20-40mg/l on the inlet side to a value of not higher than 10mg/l on the outlet side.

    • PURPOSE: To prevent the treatment failure in activated sludge treatment, by performing the treatment of industrial waste water by under the coexistence of at least one of phytic acid, phytin or a substance containing the same and a phosphorus compound in the aeration tank of an activated sludge treatment apparatus.
      CONSTITUTION: In applying activated sludge treatment to industrial waste water containing a substance for inhibiting the functions of an org. compound and activated sludge discharged from a coal liquefying plant, a coal gassifying plant or a pertroleum refining plant, phytic acid, phytinate or a substance containing a phytic acid compound is always added to the aeration tank of an activated sludge treatment apparatus and the activation degree of activated sludge is enhanced to increase the durability of activated sludge against noxious components such as a cyanide compound or sulfide. At the same time, the control of an aeration amount is performed so as to be capable of maintaining ORP of the aeration tank at a range proper to activate sludge.
