    • PURPOSE:To obtain a resistance layer film enhanced in elongation at breakage and hard to cut at the time of processing or at the time of use as a ribbon by respectively containing a specific amount of a polycarbonate resin, a specific amount of carbon black and an elastomer whose amount is specific with respect to polycarbonate. CONSTITUTION:A resistance layer film for a current supply thermal recording essentially contains 50-85wt.% of a polycarbonate resin, 15-50wt.% of carbon black and a polystyrene/polyolefin block copolymer type elastomer whose amount is 0.1-30 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. of the polycarbonate resin and obtained by uniformly mixing carbon black, the polycarbonate resin and the elastomer and forming the resulting mixture into a film having a thickness of 30mum or less pref. by a solution casting method. In the solution casting method, carbon black and the elastomer are added to an org. solvent having the resin dissolved therein and mixed sufficiently to prepare a viscous solution in which carbon black is dispersed and this solution is applied to a support to be dried by evaporating the solvent and subsequently released from the support to obtain the resistance layer film.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a resistance layer film for electrothermal recording hard to break by constituting said film of a polycarbonate resin, carbon black and silicone liquid at room temp. in a specific ratio. CONSTITUTION:A polycarbonate resin is prepared by reacting a bisphenol compound with carbonic ester and used in an amount of 50-80% by wt. of the sum total amount with carbon black. Carbon black to be used is composed of either one of conductive carbon black and usual carbon black or a mixture thereof and compounded in an amount of 15-50wt.%. As the silicone liquid at room temp., dimethylpolysiloxane or alkyl modified silicone is used and the addition amount thereof is set to 0.01-5pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. of the polycarbonate resin. After carbon black and the polycarbonate resin are uniformly mixed, the resulting mixture is formed into a film and, when a current supply thermal transfer recording material composed of three layers is prepared, a membrane of a good conductive substance is formed on a resistance layer film and, thereafter, an ink layer is applied thereto. As a result, the electrothermal transfer recording material hard to break is obtained.
