    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide wide distance measuring information without an increase of a memory by fetching photodetecting signals from elements included in one area of plural divided areas in one of paired photoelectric transfer element arrays, and fetching photodetecting signals from elements included in one area in relation to the other photoelectric transfer element array to store and calculate the distance measurement data. SOLUTION: Right and left line sensors 31L, 31R accumulate charges according to a control signal of a photodetecting control part 32, and transfers an image signal to a signal processing part 34 on completion of accumulation. A take-out control part 33 designates a first take-out area to the right and left line sensors 31L, 31R to be stored in right and left memories 41L, 41R through the signal processing part 34. A head picture element address is designated to each of the right and left memories 41L, 41R from a read-out control part 51. The data column are individually input in a correlation operating part 52 so that the sum of level differences of picture element data is obtained as a correlation value. Designation by the control part 51 is repeated for all of the remaining head picture element addresses. The distance data is obtained from the correlation value by the ranging operating part 53.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the position, motion and fluctuations of a lower frequency of an object to be detected in a fixed time irrespective of the luminance in the surroundings of the object to be detected, detect the distance of the object to be detected and detect the moving body inexpensively in a position-detecting apparatus. SOLUTION: A state of light reflected at an object 100 to be detected after projected from a projecting part 3 is detected on a two-dimensional PSD 41. Distance information of the object 10 is detected from a detection position in a baseline direction of a detected image, and the position and the motion of the object 100 are detected from a detection position in a direction perpendicular to the baseline direction of the detected image of the object 100. When the detection of the distance is carried out continuously, the moving body is detected. When the detection of the position and motion is carried out continuously, a shift in the perpendicular direction of the object 100 is detected.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the error in exposure control based on the error in the detection of a brightness value in the case where an AF sensor is used commonly as an AE sensor for spot photometry. SOLUTION: The distance measuring sensor of a distance measuring section 5 is commonly used as the photometric sensor for the spot photometry at the center of a screen. The image data obtd. by this distance measuring sensor having spectral sensitivity in an IR region is stored into the basis part/reference part data areas 125a, 125b of a memory 125. The spot photometric data is calculated by using the image data of the basis part data area 125a by a photometric arithmetic section 122. A photometric section 4 has a photometric sensor having spectral sensitivity in a visible region. The photometric data for the entire part of the photographic screen is detected from the output of the photometric sensor. The exposure control is executed by the photometric data alone when the photometric data is smaller than the prescribed value estimated to be an artificial light source. The exposure control is executed by the photometric data and the spot photometric data when the data is above the prescribed value. The error in the exposure control is prevented by not using the spot photometric data under the artificial light source of the low reliability of the photometric value.
