摘要： PURPOSE:To improve the working efficiency by automatically changing over a timing pulse according to the number of cylinders of an engine and thereby making a timing mark always exist in the image pick-up area of a visual sensor, in the case of regulating ignition timing of a distributor. CONSTITUTION:Ignition timing of a distributor 40 is regulated by picking up the image of the condition that a reference mark 22 provided on a cylinder block 20 coincides with a timing mark 26 provided on a fly-wheel 24 by means of a visual sensor 28. First, the image of the timing mark 26 is picked up with a distributor pulse from a generator 31 in relation to n th cylinder used as a timing pulse. Next, it is judged by means of an image processing device 34 whether or not the timing mark 26 exists in the picked up image. When it exists, advanced and delayed angles of the distributor 40 are regulated by means of a controller 36 through a rotor hand 38, but when it does not exist, the above processes are repeated with the number n being reset to n + 1.

摘要： PURPOSE:To automate a regulating work, by a method wherein a reference mark and a timing mark for an ignition timing are photographed, through processing of picture information thereof, a phase difference between the two marks is detected, and by means of the phase difference, a distributor is regulated by means of a robot hand. CONSTITUTION:When the ingition timing of a distributor 30 is regulated by coinciding a reference mark 12 made on a cylinder block 10 with a timing mark 16 for regulating an ignition timing made on a fly wheel 14, a strobo 20 is caused to emit light in synchronism with a distributor pulse. Simultaneously, the reference mark 12 and the timing mark 16 are photographed by means of a visual sensor 18, photograph outputs from the marks 12 and 16 are inputted to a picture processing device 24, and by processing the picture information, a phase difference between the two marks 12 and 16 is detected. Based on the phase difference, a robot hand 28 is controlled by means of a control device 26 to regulate the lead angle and the delay angle of a distributor 30.
