    • PURPOSE:To permit a tool to be mounted and dismounted only by movement of a robot arm, by mounting and dismounting the tool locked at an extreme end portion of the robot arm through tool holding means by lock release means disposed at a prescribed tool exchange position. CONSTITUTION:A robot arm 41 is moved for positioning a nut runner 48 just above a stocker portion 98. When the robot arm 41 is lowered in a direction A, the lower end portion of a sleeve 54 engages with the upper end portion of a support portion 72. When the arm 41 is further lowered, a support table 88 is lowered so that pins 100a, 100b abut a flange 64a. When the arm 41 is lowered furthermore, a ring 64 slides toward a flange 54b so that the support portion 72 perfectly engages with the sleeve 54. Then, if it is not detected that a socket 70 is abnormally mounted and dismounted, the arm 41 is moved in a direction B for releasing the ring 64 and downward movement of the arm 41 causes a clamp ball to engage with a recessed portion 72b and the socket portion 70 to be flanged to the sleeve 54 so that a socket 74 is taken out by turning a claw portion 104. Then, the socket 70 engages with a nut for thereby tightening the nut by turning it.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce abrasion of a forming die and to improve its durability, by preventing slide-contact between a material to be worked and the forming die during the course of upset work. CONSTITUTION:An anvil electrode 4 is advanced forward until its tip 41 reaches the inlet port of a forming die 1, and the end face of a material to be worked W connected to a clamp electrode 6 is butted against the electrode tip 41. Then, the electrode 4 is moved back by a fixed distance and an electric current is supplied between the electrode 4 and the clamp electrode 6, and the end section W' of the material to be worked generates heat and is softened. When the electrode 4 is moved back until the tip 41 reaches the bottom of the die 1 and the material to be worked W is pushed into the forming die 1 with strong pressure, the end section W' swells and the upset work starts. Then, the end section W' swells until it fills the forming die 1 to make forming. After the forming is completed, the clamp electrode 6 is released and the anvil electrode 4 is advanced forward, to push out the material W from the die 1.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce finishing means by half and improve work efficiency by providing a pair of forming dies provided with knock out rods one end of which is fixed and the other end is kept floating and enabling simultaneous forming of both ends of a bar. CONSTITUTION:When a bar W is set, it is preformed by forming dies 2A, 2B. The preliminarily formed bar W' is shifted to a final forming position and formed finally. Finally formed bar W'' is finished formed by forming dies 4A, 4B. When forming dies 2A, 2B act on both sides of the bar W, the bar W stretches while deforming in the die. However, the forming die 2B is fixed by a knock out rod 8B and stretching is restrained. Back pressure is given to the other end of the bar, and the end comes into contact with a knock out rod 8A which is in a floating state. It stretches, however, resisting the back pressure. Accordingly, the length l2 of the large diameter part in the center, and the length l3 of one of small diameter parts of the product A are worked uniformly, and variation of work is concentrated in the length l1 of the other small diameter part. Therefore, finishing is completed by cutting the parts to an even length.
