    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passenger conveyor device capable of sensing accurately the passenger moving time and setting an optimum footboard moving speed upon sensing accurately the moving time, in particular of the handicapped in walking.
      SOLUTION: The invention includes sensing means 18A, 18B, 21A, 21B installed on both sides across the width for sensing the time from stepping-in to kicking-up of the foot of a passenger who is getting on a footboard from get-on/get-off floors 8A, 8B, and on the basis of the time sensed by these sensing means and the reference time, a control device 19 changes the footboard moving speed from the moving time at the time of stepping-in of the foot of the passenger, wherein the arrangement is such that sensing means on the two sides can make sensing individually.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely detect the number of passengers using a passenger conveyor by providing an image processing means for detecting the number of users of the passenger conveyor on the basis of the output image of an image pickup means, and a means for reading the image to the image processing means synchronously with the speed of the footstep of the passenger conveyor. SOLUTION: An image pickup means 6 such as camera takes the image of a passenger conveyor and the state of the circumference thereof and transmits it to a monitoring device 7. The monitoring device 7 is formed of an image input part 71, an area setting part 72, an image processing part 73, a counter part 74, and an output part 75. The image input part 71 receives the image from the image pickup means 6, converts it into a digital data and transmits the data to the image processing part 73 every fixed period. The image processing part 73 image-processes the image received from the image input part 71 and detects the number of passengers within a detecting area. Further, the counter part 74 counts the number of users of the passenger conveyor on the basis of the detection result of the image processing part 73. According to this, the number of users of the passenger conveyor can be precisely detected.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To collect driving and failure information of each of units in an accident warning device and to inform it to a monitoring center from the accident warning device by setting a radio on each of the passenger conveyor units and communicating the failure information between the units through the ratio. SOLUTION: Driving failure detection sensors 3a-3c are installed on passenger conveyors 1a-1c and are connected to monitoring information systems 2a-2c. The monitoring information systems 2a-2c set on the passenger conveyors 1a-1c are furnished with transmitters 4a-4c to supply output signals to antennas 6a, 6b for transmission, receivers 5a-5c connected to antennas 7a-7c for reception, accident warning devices 8a-8c, input output devices 20a-20c and microcomputers 21a-21c. Driving and failure information of the passenger conveyors 1a-1c is informed to a monitoring center 9 from the accident warning devices 8a-8c built in the monitoring information systems 2a-2c. Consequently, it is possible to easily set and maintain the passenger conveyors at low cost by communicating the driving and failure information of the passenger conveyors between units of the passenger conveyors.
