SOLUTION: Positioning servo is performed by setting such a virtual track at which the center of rotation (11) of a magnetic recording medium or its neighborhood is the track center (12) of data information. Accordingly, there is no need for faithfully following up the track center line regulated by the servo information previously recorded on the magnetic recording medium or the magneto-optical recording medium and therefore the vibration synchronized with the rotation hardly occurs. Then, the generation of the vibration synchronized with the disk rotation is averted when the center of rotation (11) and the pattern center (12) are misligned, by which the magnetic recording device or magneto-optical recording device improved in the track follow-up accuracy of the magnetic head or the magneto-optical recording head is obtained. The recording density may therefore be additionally improved.

CONSTITUTION:In the magnetic reproducing head, the saturated magnetic flux density of a main magnetic pole 3 is made equal or less than the saturated magnetic flux density of a recording medium 1. When a record is reproduced, a current flows from a driving current source 22 to the lower part of the main magnetic pole 3 at first and when the main magnetic pole 3 is magnetized toward the magnetic flux to be leaked from the recording medium, an abnormal hole voltage is generated at an abnor mal hole voltage detecting electrode 7 and detected by an abnormal hole voltage detecting circuit 23. Namely, since the main magnetic pole is saturated and the direc tion of the magnetization in the main magnetic pole is changed 180 deg., the detection is executed by using an abnormal hole effect, abnormal magnetic resistance effect or Faraday effect to more sensitively sense the direction of magnetization rather than the size of magnetization. Thus, the large output can be obtained with the high floating amount and information can be read with low noise or crosstalk.

摘要： PURPOSE:To realize recording and reproducing with high resolution and the positioning of a head with high accuracy at the same time by forming a laser light emitting part on the identical substrate of a recording and reproducing element with the aid of using the technique of photo-lithography. CONSTITUTION:The GaAs substrate 11 where a semiconductor laser is formed is cleaved to an optional shape by a surface (110). Besides, SiO2 15 having optional film thickness is formed on one side of the cleavage plane by a spattering method. On the other cleavage plane an SiO2/amorphous Si/SiO2 laminated fiom 16 is formed. The film thickness constituting the film 16 is set so that it becomes 1/4 of a laser wavelength lambda. Next, a thin film magnetic head 18 which records and reproduces magnetic recording information is formed on an electrode 13 through an insulating layer 17 by a conventional thin film process. The laser light emitting part is set ahead from a magnetic head part with respect to the traveling direction of the head and the recording can be executed immediately after a medium is heated. Thus, even when the recording magnetic field of the magnetic head is smaller than the original coersive force of the medium, the recording can be executed and tracking information formed beside a recording track on the medium can be also reproduced.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic head having a magnetism detecting element with high detection sensitivity with simple constitution by detecting a change in a tunnel current of ferromagnetic laminating elements connected in series via a very thin electric insulation film. CONSTITUTION:An electric circuit is connected to a laminating element comprising ferromagnetic elements 1a, 1b connected in series via a very thin electric insulation film 2 and its current is measured. When the element is placed in a magnetic field leaked from a magnetic recording and reproducing medium 3, the elements 1a, 1b of the part in contact with the film 2 are magnetized and a tunnel current flows through them. When the elements 1a, 1b are placed in a magnetic field in the opposite direction, the magnetizing state of the elements 1a, 1b is changed resulting in changing its tunnel current. Thus, when the elements 1a, 1b pass above recording bits recorded periodically onto the recording medium, the current is varied with the direction of the magnetization of the bits. Thus, a magnetic head having a detection element with simple constitution is obtained.
