    • PURPOSE:To provide a recording material giving a sufficient developed color density and having an enhanced preservability in raw state and with time, by using a specified compound as an electron-accepting compound. CONSTITUTION:An electron-donating colorless dye and an electron-accepting compound consisting of a compound of general formula (I), wherein an alcohol residue constituting the ester linkage has an unsaturated bond and wherein R is a 3-18C group having an unsaturated bond, are used. When the electron- accepting compound is used for a thermal recording material, it is preferably one that has a melting point of 90-200 deg.C. The thermal recording material is produced by a method wherein the dye, the electron-accepting compound and, optionally, a heat-fusible substance are sufficiently finely pulverized and mixed into a liquid obtained by dissolving or dispersing a binder in a solvent or dispersant, and an oil-absorptive pigment is added to the resultant material to prepare a coating liquid. A sensitizer, a metallic soap, an antioxidant, a UV absorber, an image preservability enhancing agent or the like may be added to the coating liquid, as required. The coating liquid is applied to a base such as a neutral paper, a woodfree paper and a plastic film, followed by drying.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a sufficient developed color density while maintaining the function of a protective layer, by subjecting a protective layer to a heat treatment in a specified temperature range after coating and drying, in a thermal recording material wherein a protective layer comprising a polymer as a main constituent is laminated on a thermal color forming layer. CONSTITUTION:A thermal recording material comprises a thermal color forming layer comprising a colorless or light-colored electron-donative dye precursor and an electron-acceptive compound for developing the color of the dye precursor by reacting therewith, and a protective layer laminated thereon which comprises a polymer as a main constituent. The protective layer is subjected to a heat treatment after coating and drying. The heat treatment is preferably carried out by passing the recording material through a pressing device comprising the combination of a metallic roll heated to 50-80 deg.C and an elastic roll so that the protective layer side is brought into contact with the metallic roll. The elastic roll is preferably formed from a material having a Shore hardness of 70-90 deg.. The dye precursor may be a compound based on triarylmethane, diphenylmethane, xanthene, thiazine, spiropyran or the like.

    • PURPOSE:To provide the recording material excellent in coloration, raw shelf life and the stability of coloring picture, having the characteristics for preparing solution and meeting other conditions to be equipped with, by a method wherein not less than a specific amount of colorless dye is the colorless dye having polyoxyalkylene group. CONSTITUTION:The titled material is the recording material utilizing the phenomenon that when the colorless dye having polyoxyalkylene group comes in contact with the electron acceptable compound of other colorless dye, coloration is generated. The colorless dye having polyoxyalkylene group is used at least to occupy not less than 0.5% in all the colorless dye, preferably 0.5% and over to 95% incl., and further preferably 15% and over to 80% incl. Furthermore, the oxyalkylene unit of polyoxyalkylene group should preferably be not less than 2 and its upper limit is 15 level. Alkylene of 2 to 4 in carbon number is preferable as the alkylene. Further, its end should preferably be modified to alkyl ether, aryl ether or acyl. Unless the end hydroxy material is used by not more than 60% at most in the colorless dye, the improved effect of coloration can not sufficiently be obtained.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a heat-sensitive recording material with good response to heat, by suppressing increase in viscosity of the dispersion solution and thereby obtaining possibility of microdispersion treatment by way of adding casein sodium to the dispersion medium containing a water soluble macro-molecule material. CONSTITUTION:A dispersion medium containing PVC, hydroxyethyl-cellulose and/ or a starch derivative and others is made to contain further casein sodium, preferably 5-70wt% (to the water soluble macro molecule material). Next, an electron donating colorless dyestuff and/or an electron accepting compound are added to the dispersion solution. After their dispersion, the solution is applied on paper, plastic and other skeleton materials to obtain desired heat-sensitive recording material. USE:Recording papers for received images in the facsimile communication.
