    • PURPOSE:To improve the chromatic sectioning properties of a thermal recording material which develops a varying color by providing an intermediate layer having the decomposition wavelength of a diazonium salt compound which becomes longer in proportion to a distance between a layer in which said compound is contained located near a support and the support and allowing a lower decomposition wavelength light to transmit through an area between thermal coloring layers and an upper decomposition wavelength light to be absorbed. CONSTITUTION:The decomposition wavelength of diazonium salts contained in each thermal coloring layer becomes longer in proportion to a distance between a layer near a support and the support. The thermal recording material of each thermal coloring layer incorporates and intermediate layer which allows the decomposition wavelength of diazonium salt compounds contained in a lower layer to transmit and that of the diazonium salts contained in an upper layer to be absorbed. Subsequently, a light emitted for the decomposition of unreacted diazonium salts which are contained in an aimed thermal recording layer is absorbed by the intermediate layer located right below after thermally recording of the aimed thermal recording layer. On the other hand, the light almost does not act on the diazonium salts in the lower layer under the aimed layer. Subsequently, the diazonium salts contained in layers other than the aimed layer do no longer decompose, if thermal recording and optical decomposion processes are repeated.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a high printing density with low energy and to obtain a thermal recording material free from adhesion of scums to a head and enhanced in running properties by providing an intermediate layer containing flat hollow particles mainly composed of a synthetic polymer between a thermal recording layer and a substrate. CONSTITUTION:In a flat particle in use having approximately a cylindrical shape, it is preferable that the height of the cylinder is 3/4 or less the diameter of the bottom and the particle is shaped to have a doughnut-form hollow at the center thereof. Preferably, it is mainly composed of a styrene polymer. The flat particle ranges preferably 0.01-10mum in diameter and 5m /g or more in specific surface area in a BET method. The flat particles are applied together with a binder to be used as a intermediate layer. As the binder, water-soluble polymers, latices, and the like are used. As a substrate, paper, synthetic resin films, and the like are used. For a thermal recording layer formed on the intermediate layer, a material responding to heat to form a visible image is applicable and a color reaction of an electron donative dye precursor and an electron accepting compound is used.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain high printing density by low energy, and to acquire a thermal recording material having excellent travelling by forming an intermediate layer containing porous particles having a shape that secondary particles smaller than nuclei are bound with the surfaces of primary particles as nuclei between a thermal recording layer and a supporter. CONSTITUTION:Porous particles have a shape that other secondary particles smaller than nuclei are bound with the surfaces of spherical primary particles as nuclei, and are manufactured generally through an emulsion polymerization method, a mechanochemical method, etc. The range of 0.1-10mum is preferable as the outside diameters of porous particles, and approximately 0.5-2mum is more preferable. Porous particles are applied together with a binder, and used as an intermediate layer. Polyvinyl alcohol, etc. are employed as the desirable binder. 0.5-50g/m , preferably 3-10g/m as dry solid content is proper as the amount of coating of the intermediate layer. All of a supporter such as paper used in the field of a normal thermal recording material, a synthetic resin film, etc. can be used as a supporter.

    • PURPOSE:To enhance printing density with low energy by providing a thermal recording layer capable of coloration by heat on a support, and incorporating a substance for eluting water in response to an external stimulus and a water- resisting agent into the layer to provide a thermal recording material. CONSTITUTION:An electron-donative dye precursor, an electron-acceptive compound, a substance for eluting water and/or an aqueous solution in response to an external stimulus and a water-resisting agent are mixed in an aqueous medium, and are ground and dispersed by a ball mill or the like to prepare a coating liquid for forming a thermal recording layer. The coating liquid applied to a support such as a synthetic resin film, and is dried to provide the thermal recording layer, thereby obtaining a thermal recording material. The substance for releasing water and/or an aqueous solution in response to an external stimulus may be, for example, microcapsules containing the water or the aqueous solution therein. The water-resisting agent may be, for example, a urea-formaldehyde resin or glyoxal.

    • PURPOSE:To increase the printing efficiency with the forming of colors at high density with low energy by providing a thermosensitive recording layer, consisting of a blended inorganic compound containing crystallization water, which indicates a coloration due to heat. CONSTITUTION:An inorganic compound containing crystallization water at a crystallization water release temperature of 100 deg.C or less is blended with an electron-donative dye precursor and an electron-receptive compound, both capable of indicating a coloration due to heat, to prepare an application liquid for dispersion. This dispersant is applied to the surface of a support and dried to form a thermosensitive recording layer and thus a thermosensitive recording material is obtained. With the application of the thermosensitive recording material, especially the crystallization water of the inorganic compound containing a crystallization water is released, and consequently, the printing is performed efficiently to obtain a coloration at high density with low energy in the printing process. The typical examples of the above-mentioned inorganic compounds containing said crystallization water are (NH4)Cr(SO4)2.12H2O, NH4ClMgCl.6H2O, etc.
