    • PURPOSE:To allow the calibration of measured values with good accuracy by estimating the measured values at the virtual point on the outside of the upper limit and lower limit of the display values of calibration liquids in addition to the measured values of the calibration liquid having prescribed representation values and determining the calibration curve including these virtual measured values. CONSTITUTION:The measured values h, m, l are determined and plotted with the three calibration liquids having the prescribed standard representation values H, M, L by the same method as the method for executing the quantitative analysis of the components to be examined. The virtual measured value corresponding to the representation value Hmax of the upper limit of the determination is designated as hmax and the virtual measured value at the 0 point (representation value=0) as C0. The virtual measured value hmax and C0 at this virtual point are determined. The calibration curve is usually a quadratic function in many cases and, therefore, linear equation is obtd, from the three points (l, L), (m, M), (h, H) and (hmax, Hmax) is determined from the point intersecting with Y-Hmax and (C0, 0) from the point intersecting with the X axis. The calibration curve is obtd. by using the five points (C0, 0), (l, L), (m, M), (h, H), (hmax4X, Hmax).

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the evaporation of a solvent and the use of the liquid concentrated to an undesirable extent, by providing a container with the members floating on the liquid surface and occupying at least one-half of the liquid surface and with the spherical members of not less than four having a greater specific gravity than that of the liquid and placed therein to a predeter mined height from the inner surface of the container bottom. CONSTITUTION:It is desirable that a clearance between a floating member and the inner surface of wall of a container in the liquid storage portion be made as small as possible. And it is important that the material of the floating member do not affect the liquid composition. By forming a hole in the middle of this floating member, the liquid can be removed by a pipette or the like through the hole, without forcing the floating member into the liquid. The material of the spherical member is greater in specific gravity than the liquid and it is important that this material be the type which does not affect the liquid composition. These spherical members are placed in the container to a depth corresponding to that of the liquid in the minimum limit of the amount, with changes in the liquid concentration resulting from evaporation confined within a practically negligible limit.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of calibration curve formation by incorporating a water-insoluble dispersion phase into a calibration liquid for forming the calibration curve of an analysis system. CONSTITUTION:The water-insoluble dispersion phase is incorporated into the calibration liquid for liquid component analysis to determine the specific component in whole blood. A dry type analysis material contg. at least one reagent in a water permeable layer and having a porous development layer on the outermost layer is used and the liquid contg. the water-insoluble dispersion phase is used as the calibration liquid at the time of a quantitative analysis of the specific analyte in the whole blood. The water-insoluble dispersion phase is selected from the group consisting of a styrene polymer, copolymer of styrene and monomer copolymerizable therewith, etc., if said phase is a solid phase. The water-insoluble dispersion phase is selected from the group consisting of adipate, sebacate, etc., if said phase is a liquid phase. The water-insoluble dispersion phase is an emulsion or suspension which has grain sizes ranging 0.01-10mum and can be uniformly mixed with an aq. phase by a simple stirring operation. Said phase may not always be a liquid dispersion.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preserving an enzyme-labeled antibody capable of performing stable and long-term preservation.
SOLUTION: The enzyme-labeled antibody is preserved in a buffer solution containing a Good's buffer, calcium chloride, and sodium chloride. The concentration of the calcium chloride in the buffer solution is preferably between 5-15 mM, more preferably 10 mM. The concentration of the sodium chloride is higher than the concentration of physiological saline, preferably lies within the range between 0.85-1.7%, more preferably approximately 1.7%. The most preferable composition of the buffer solution is PIPES (pH6.0) of 20 mM, calcium chloride of 10 mM, and sodium chloride of 1.7%.
