    • PURPOSE:To obtain a semiconductive laser recording medium having absorption in a near infrared region and having high sensitivity and good stability, by containing a specific alpha-diimine metal complex in a recording layer. CONSTITUTION:A thin layer containing at least one compound selected from compounds represented by general formulae [I]-[VI] is provided on a substrate. For example, a compound represented by the general formula [I] is synthesized by oxidizing a bis-O-phenylenediaminato iron complex, which is obtained by refluxing a ferrous salt and O-phenylenediamines or a salt thereof under heating in an inert atmosphere, in air in the presence of a dehydrating agent at room temp. A guide groove is formed to a glass or plastic substrate in order to facilitate tracking at the time of recording and a primer layer is provided thereto. A recording layer is formed by a system for applying a solution prepared by dissolving said alpha-diimine metal complex in a solvent to the substrate by coating or vapor deposition or a system for applying a mixture consisting of said solution and a resin solution.

    • PURPOSE:To lower or deactivate the function of a deactivatable agent by using an additive and the deactivating agent capable of reacting with the additive and lowering or deactivating its photographically useful function during the time from forming of silver halide crystals to just before coating. CONSTITUTION:As the deactivatable photographically useful additive (deactivatable agent), an S-contg. silver halide solvent, an inhibitor (especially, S-contg. inhibitor), a sensitizer (especially, S-contg. sensitizer), an adjuvant for a gold sensitizer, a dye, etc., are embodied. Said S-contg. inhibitor substantially inhibits growth of silver halide grains, and it is adsorbed through a mercapto or thion group to the surface of each silver halide crystal. Said adjuvant of the gold sensitizer is a compd. capable of becoming the ligand of a gold ion, or the like, and as said deactivating agent, a proper compd. can be selected in accordance with the objective deactivatable agent, and e.g., an oxidant is usable. When the deactivatable agent is an S-contg. silver halide solvent, an inhibitor, a dye, or the like, the deactivating agent is used together with it during the time from forming the silver halide crystals to before the start of a water rinse step, and when the deactivatable agent is a sensitizer or the adjuvant for gold sensitization, or the like, they are used in a chemical ripening step.
