    • PURPOSE:To improve production efficiency by subtracting the tare of the glass melting device from the total weight of the device including glass to obtain the glass weight, then obtaining the glass outflow from its variation and controlling the temp. of the flow rate part. CONSTITUTION:When in batch operation, the weight WF of the empty glass melting device A is weighed by a load cell 13 and inputted to a controller 15. The tare WF is then subtracted from the weight WT of the device A changed with glass and set, and the flow rate QS of molten glass per unit time is set. The glass material from a feeder 16 is charged in a specified amt., a glass crucible 1 is heated to melt the material, and an outflow pipe 4 is heated by a heater 10 to discharge molten glass 3. The total weight WT of the device A including glass is measured, and the tare WF is subtracted therefrom to obtain the glass weight WG. The process is repeated, the variation in glass weight WG is calculated to obtain loss in weight per unit time, and the outflow Qp is also obtained. The heater 10 is controlled by the outflow part temp. control part 19 so that the outflow Qp and set value Qs are equalized. Since the entire device including glass is weighed in this way, sampling is not needed, and the production efficiency is not decreased.

    • PURPOSE:To automatically reheat glass which has been hardened by reduction of temperature of primary molding before secondary molding, by detecting softened state of glass in a reheating tank and controlling revolving speed of blowing rod and timing of pulling out the blowing rod from a furnace depending upon the information of the softened state of glass. CONSTITUTION:Glass having wound shape before primary molding or glass 7 hardened by reduction of temperature by passing through primary molding process is inserted into a heating tank 2 of a tempering furnace 1 and reheated. During the operation, softened state of glass is detected by a sensor 10 and the detected information is inputted to a controller 12. The controller 12 calculates revolving speed of the blowing rod and timing of pulling out the blowing rod from the furnace, regulates revolution of a servo motor (control device of glass attitude) 9 and and pulls out the blowing rod from the furnace by order signal based on the result of the calculation.
