    • PURPOSE:To eliminate friction loss and obtain an improved thermal efficiency in an internal combustion engine by a construction wherein a pair of pistons are oppositely mounted in a combustion cylinder and both pistons are capable of effecting reciprocating motion and rotation at the same time. CONSTITUTION:A pair of pistons 10 are mounted in a combustion cylinder 1 so that they can reciprocate freely opposite to each other along piston grooves formed in the inner wall of the cylinder 1. Air supply holes 14, air supply grooves 5 and scavenging air grooves 12 are arranged to open in a combustion chamber 2 defined between the pistons 10 at synmetrical positions at the right and left ends and top and bottom thereof. Further, an exhaust gas groove 13 is arranged to open in the combustion chamber 2 and recovery of motive power is made in the process wherein the exhaust gas produced by combustion is discharged from an exhaust gas passage (not shown) which is perforated in a cooling fin 7 through guide blades 30 of a fixed outer cylinder 35 and exhaust gas rings 31. Mounted on the outer periphery of the combustion chamber 1 are left and right bent groove cylinders 16 each having a bent groove 17. The rolling part (not shown) mounted on each piston 10 is engaged with the bent groove 17 so that the piston 10 may be rotated when it is slidably moved in the axial direction.

    • PURPOSE: To enhance efficiency of energy conversion in an engine, by providing a swingable piston in the inside of a rotor so as to take out expansion pressure in bidirectional ways in which expansion pressures repel each other.
      CONSTITUTION: A rotor 22 formed therein with a combustion chamber A is slidably and rotatably disposed in a housing 21. A piston 25 which is adapated to slide and swing in the combustion chamber A with a projection 37 formed in the inside of the rotor 22 and having a curved surface, as the center thereof is disposed in the combustion chamber A. The rotor 22 and the piston 25 are rotated and swung, respectively, in the opposite directions.

    • PURPOSE:To disuse the valve mechanism of a rotary engine for simplifying the structure and reducing noises and vibrations by fitting a rotation member provided with a cylinder hole into a casing provided with cylindrical inside to be rotatable and inserting a piston into the cylinder hole to be freely slided. CONSTITUTION:A casing 1 with cylindrical inside 1-1 is provided with a suction port 2 and an exhaust port 3, and equipped with an ignition device 4. A rotation member 5 is contained in the casing 1 to be rotatable and closely fitted to the inner surface of the casing, and a piston 6 is fitted in a cylinder hole 5-1 provided radially in the member 5 to be freely slided. The piston 6 is held in the eccentric rotation part of a crankshaft 8 via an eccentric ring 7, and a gear 10 provided in the eccentric rotation part is engaged with an internal gear 9 of the casing 1. A gear 11 provided in the eccentric rotation part is engaged with an internal gear 12 of the rotation member 5, and thereby, when the crankshaft 8 is rotated thrice, the rotation member 5 is rotated once in the same direction.
