    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming system in which a plurality of image forming apparatuses are connected in series, the reduction in productivity can be prevented and an image quality can be guaranteed by optimizing an execution frequency of an image quality adjusting operation.SOLUTION: An image forming system 100 is configured in such a manner that image forming apparatuses 1 and 2 are connected in series. The image forming system 100 includes: image forming parts 12 and 22 executing the image quality adjusting operation; and control parts 10, 20 and 1a determining whether each of the image forming apparatuses 1 and 2 is in a first step where the image quality is guaranteed but it is better to execute the image quality adjusting operation or in a second step where the image quality is not guaranteed unless the image quality adjusting operation is executed, determining that it is necessary to execute the image quality adjusting operation when both of the image forming apparatuses 1 and 2 are in the first step or when one of the image forming apparatuses 1 and 2 is in the second step, and performing control for simultaneously executing the image quality adjusting operation for both of the image forming apparatuses 1 and 2 by the image forming parts 12 and 22.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain an image in registration between the image formation by a printing device of a preceding stage and that by a printing device of a following stage both on the same page, even when a long recording medium having the page thermally shrunk by the printing device of the preceding stage is fed into the device of the following stage.SOLUTION: A first printing device P1 makes a registration mark corresponding to a unit area, into which a web W is partitioned in a predetermined length, in the feeding direction of the web W. A second printing device P2 includes controlling means 200 which measures either an interval between registration marks or detecting timing of registration marks and controls feeding speed of the web W according to a result of the measurement. The controlling means 200 also controls registration of images to be formed on the both sides of the web W based on the number of unit areas of the web W defined along the feeding path from the transferring position of the first printing device to that of the second printing device, and the amount of thermal shrinkage of the web W caused by excessive heating by a thermal fixing device of the first printing device P1.
