    • PURPOSE:To obtain high-purity trimethylsilyldiethylamine capable of reutilizing a reactional by-product as a starting raw material without containing an impurity such as chlorine at a low cost by reacting diethylamine with a specific N, O-bis (trimethylsilyl) acrylamide. CONSTITUTION:This method for producing the objective trimethylsilyldiethylamine is to place N,O-bis(trimethylsilyl)acrylamide expressed by the formula in a four neck flask equipped with a stirrer, a reflux condenser, a dropping funnel and a thermometer, drop diethylamine from the dropping funnel thereto for 1 hr, react the compounds at 20-30 deg.C, keep the reactional mixture at 60-70 deg.C temperature after completing the dropping of the diethylamine, age the reactional mixture at the temperature for 2 hr, then perform the vacuum distillation and provide the objective compound as a fraction having 53 deg.C boiling point under 60mmHg pressure. The resultant compound is useful as an electronics material, etc., such as a primer for photoresists. Furthermore, N-trimethylsilylacrylamide which is a by-product can be trimethylsilylated and readily converted into the N,O-bis(trimethylsilyl)acrylamide which is a raw material.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electro-luminescence element characterized by high luminance, small change of luminance by temperature, small degradation in luminance at a long-term lighting, excellent impact-resistant, excellent flexibility, high thermal decomposition temperature and excellent heat resistance, by dispersing granular particles having electroluminescent properties in high dielectric addition type curable binder composition characterized by a high dielectric constant and a low adsorption quantity. SOLUTION: This electro-luminescence element is comprised of a dielectric formed lamellarly as a luminous layer. The dielectric contains granular particles having electroluminescent properties. The dielectric is composed of (a) an organo polysiloxane which contains a cyanoalkyl group and a monovalent hydrocarbon having an aliphatic unsaturated bond, (b) an organohydrogen polysiloxane which contains a cyanoalkyl group and (c) a cured high dielectric addition type curable binder composition which contains a platinum group metal-based catalyst. Therefore, the electro-luminescence element has industrial advantage not only for applying to the backlights of the various liquid crystal displays but also for applying broadly as the surface emitting bodies.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor or more particularly an organic photoreceptor which is further improved in durability by lowering the coefficient of friction on the surface of the uppermost layer of the photoreceptor, is improved in cleaning characteristics and makes it possible to stably obtain high-density and bright images at all times. SOLUTION: The uppermost layer of this electrophotographic photoreceptor contains spherical hydrophobic silica particulates which satisfy the following conditions (i) and (ii) and are 0.01 to 5 μm in the average grain size of the primary particles. (i) The silica particulates disperse uniformly into an organic compound which is liquid at room temperature and has a dielectric constant of 1 to 40 F/m when this organic compound and the silica particulates are mixed at a weight ratio of 5:1 and are shaken. (ii) The ratio of the quantity of the primary particles remaining as primary particles to the quantity of the initially existing primary particles is >=20% when the dispersion prepared by dispersing the silica particulates into methanol is held for two hours at 100 deg.C after the methanol is distilled away under heating in an evaporator.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external additive for toner which causes no reaction and no interaction with an organic photoreceptor and consequently causes no deterioration and no crack of the photoreceptor, and which has excellent flowability and consequently causes no sticking of the toner to the photoreceptor and consists of fine silica particles. SOLUTION: The electrostatic charge image developing toner external additive is distinguished by being consisting of spherical hydrophobia fine silica particle which is obtained by introducing a R13SiO1/2 unit (in which R1 is univalent hydrocarbon group of 1-6C having substituents of the same kinds or different kinds or having no substituent) on a surface of a hydrophilic fine silica particle constituted of SiO2 unit, which satisfies conditions (i) and (ii) described below, of which average grain size of primary particles is 0.01 to 5 μm. (i) When the fine silica particles are blended with an organic compound which is liquid at room temperature and has 1 to 40 F/m dielectric constant at 5:1 weight ratio and are shaked, the fine silica particles uniformly disperse in the organic compound. (ii) When the fine silica particles are kept at 100 deg.C for 2 hours after evaporating methanol by an evaporator under heating from a dispersion obtained by dispersing the fine silica particles into methanol, ratio of primary particle quantity left as the primary particle to primary particle quantity present at first is >=20%.
