CONSTITUTION:Since the outboard machine is fixed on swivel bracket 4, which is fitted on stern plate 1 and can rotate freely, it is possible to put the outboard machine in the positions of its use and storage by rotating swivel bracket 4 about shaft 5. Under the condition of use of the outboard machine, tilt lever 23 lies at position A. As a result, the main lock mechanism, which is connected to this lever, operates, and hook units 26 and 17 are engaged with pin 7 on the ship's side. This condition of engagement can be released by moving tilt lever 23 to position B. Subsequently, when swivel bracket 4 is turned upward about shaft 5, and stop lever 36 is brought into contact with bracket 2, the storage condition results.

    • PURPOSE:To make possible to eliminate manual operation, by associating a mode changeover switch with an engine speed detecting means so that the control mode of an engine is automatically changed over into a manual mode when the speed of the engine is below a set value but into a preset mode when the speed exceeds the set value. CONSTITUTION:When the rotational speed of an engine is below a set speed, a mode change-over switch 70 is turned off, and therefore, a comparator does not issue a tilt-up stop signal. Accordingly, a manual mode is set so that a propelling unit 10 may be set to a desired trim angle in accordance with the manipulation of a trim switch 48, and therefore, a tilt-up operation is also possible. When the engine rotational speed raises, exceeding the set speed at a setting unit 82, the change-over switch 70 is turned on so that a preset mode is established. Therefore, the propelling unit 10 may be subjected to a tilt-down by means of the switch 48 when the propelling unit 10 is set exceeding a desired trim angle alpha at a setting unit 64, while it is tilted up when it is below the desired trim angle alpha, until the desired trim angle alpha is obtained. Accordingly, the propelling unit 10 comes to a stop automatically at this trim angle alpha.

    • PURPOSE:To permit a tilt cylinder apparatus to contraction-operate in precedence on tilt down, by making the passage resistance of a conduit for the upper chamber side of a trim cylinder apparatus larger than the passage resistance of a conduit for the upper chamber side of tilt cylinder apparatus. CONSTITUTION:The captioned apparatus is equipped with a tilt cylinder apparatus 18 for vertically tilting a tilt bracket for supporting a propulsion unit in trunable ways around a steering shaft and a trim cylinder apparatus 29 for tilting the tilting bracket within a prescribed trim range. The upper chambers 24 and 33 of the cylinder apparatuses 18 and 29 are connected to the discharge side of a hydraulic pump 35 through conduits 43B and 44B, and the lower chambers 25 and 34 are connected to the discharge side of the hydraulic pump 35 through conduits 43A and 44A. In this case, if the hydraulic pump 35 discharges working oil towards the conduits 43B and 44B, the passage resistance of the conduit 44B for the discharge pressure is made larger than the passage resistance of the conduit 43B, and an aimed purpose can be achieved.
