    • PURPOSE:To enable correction of magnification errors caused by variance of oscillation wavelength of a semiconductor laser by making output signal frequency of a PLL, which generates a clock signal synchronizing with a reference signal from a reference clock signal generator and transmits it to a modulation signal outputting means, variable. CONSTITUTION:The oscillation of a voltage control oscillator 17 is controlled so that a phase difference between a reference clock signal from a reference clock signal generator 19 and an output signal of a frequency divider 18 will be made zero, and an output of the voltage control oscillator 17 is added to said phase locked circuit 2 as a clock signal. Reference oscillation wavelength of a semiconductor laser 3 is set to 780-800nm, which is divided into three segments I , II and III. When the oscillation wavelength of the laser 3 is of the segment I , a demultiplication ratio N of the divider 8 is selected by a demultiplication ratio selecting switch 29 so that an output signal frequency f0 of the voltage control oscillator 17 will be 1.874mHz. In the same manner, the ratio N is selected by said switch 29 so that the output signal frequency f0 of the voltage control oscillator 17 will be 1.890mHz and 1.906mHz in case of segments I and II, respectively.

    • PURPOSE:To improve precision, to set the time width of a modulating signal for synchronism detection short, to shorten the turn-on time of a semiconductor laser, and to reduce fatigue by generating the modulating signal for synchronism detection by a counter. CONSTITUTION:The counter 11 counts clock pulses of constant frequency from a clock pulse generator 12. The counter 11 holds its output at a low level during counting operation and goes up to a high level after entering a full-count state. The synchronism detection signal of a synchronous detector 9 is passed through an AND gate 13 with the high-level output signal of the counter 11 to reset the counter 11 to zero, which then starts counting clock pulses. The output signal of the counter 11 is sent as the modulating signal for synchronism detection to a semiconductor laser driving circuit 1 to turn on the semiconductor laser when the level is high. The signal is generated precisely by the counter 11 for a constant time, so the time width of the output signal is set short to shorten the turn-on time of the semiconductor laser 3.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the quality of printing for an optical printer with the application of a stable quantity of light to a photosensitive body by regulating an array-like light source detecting the quantity of light on the photosensitive body to making the light adjustable according to any change in the ambient temperature, aging and the like. CONSTITUTION:For example, an LED array 17 for sampling is provided at one end of an LED array light source 16 while a photosensor 18 is provided on a photosensitive drum 1 to detect the quantity of light corresponding the array 17. In addition, a light writing head 3 of an optical printer is so arranged that the output of the photosensor 18 is inputted into a sample hold circuit 20 via an integration circuit 19. Thus, the sampling array 17 lights according to a sampling signal, the photosensor 18 detects the quantity of light emitted on the photosensitive body drum 1 and according to the output of the photosensor 18, the applied voltage of the LED is controlled to regulate light of the LED array 16.

    • PURPOSE:To make it possible to secure linearity, in an LED rray light source for an electrophotographic system, by arranging blocks so as to successively shift the same at every distance over which a photosensitive element moves during an ON/OFF control transfer time between the blocks. CONSTITUTION:When a distance, over which a photosensitive element moves for am ON/OFF control transfer time between blocks B1, B2,... of an LED array, is set to DELTAl, the blocks are arranged stepwise at every distance DELTAl in a sub- scanning direction. In this driving control system, the blocks are divided into two groups in a main scanning direction to attain speed acceleration but, for example, blocks B11, B12 are simultaneously subjected to ON/OFF control and handled as one block B1 though spaced apart to each other while blocks B12, B22,...B1N, B2N are arranged so as to be successively shifted by DELTAl. By this method, in spite of time sharing, the formation of a stepwise latent image is eliminated to make it possible to secure linearity.
