    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zinc-plated steel member for laser beam welding which does not need the introduction of a new welding auxiliary apparatus, minimizes the occurrence of defective welding without using an expensive organic insert material, and does not lower the appearance of a welding part, its production method, and a laser beam welding method. SOLUTION: In the zinc-plated steel member for laser beam welding, a membrane containing at least one kind of an oxidizing agent which is stable at temperatures below 150°C and is decomposed at temperatures between 150-850°C to produce oxygen gas is provided in at least one part of a steel member surface coated with zinc or zinc alloy plating in the amount of zinc to be coated of at least 20 g/m 2 per one side.
