    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for removing pyrolytic carbon from dry distillation gas of organic waste, with which pyrolytic carbon is safely removed in a high removal ratio from dry distillation gas formed by dry distillation of organic waste. SOLUTION: The method for removing pyrolytic carbon from dry distillation gas of organic waste comprises a process for cooling dry distillation gas containing pyrolytic carbon and liquefying an oil component as recovered oil, a process for storing the liquefied oil component as the recovered oil in a storage tank 4, introducing cooled dry distillation gas to the recovered oil in the storage tank, generating foams 7 in the recovered oil in the storage tank, transferring the pyrolytic carbon to the recovered oil by solid-liquid mixing of the pyrolytic carbon in the dry distillation gas and the recovered oil and removing the pyrolytic carbon, a process for extracting the dry distillation gas, from which the pyrolytic carbon is removed, from the upper part of the storage tank 4, a process for extracting the recovered oil from the lower part of the storage tank 4 and removing the pyrolytic carbon by a solid-liquid separator 9 to recover an oil component and a process for extracting the recovered oil from the upper part of the storage tank 4 and circulating the recovered oil as cooling oil for the dry distillation gas.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure inclination and distribution of double refraction in the thickness direction by radiating light linearly polarized by a polarizing plate, measuring the quantity of transmitted light while changing the vibration direction of the polarized light, and detecting the double refraction of the cross-section based on the alteration of the light quantity in respective pixels. SOLUTION: A stage 12 on which a sample is set is rotated and a sample is positioned at an opposite angle position where the sample is seen brightest. The light emitted out of a light source 9 is made to be the monochromatic light by passing through an interference filter 10 and made to be a linearly polarized light by passing through a polarizer 11 and then illuminated in the vertical direction to the cross-section of the sample. The light passed through the sample passes through a Senarmont type compensator 13, becomes a linearly polarized light at an angle to the former linearly polarized light, passes through an analyzer 14, and is transmitted to a camera 2. The analyzer 14 is rotated by a driving apparatus 5 and the polarization angle for every stepped angle and the image are stored in an input image memory 3 connected with a personal computer 6. The double refraction of each pixel is found, based on the polarization angle data and the thickness of the cut out sample.
