CONSTITUTION:The light emitted from a light projector 10 is vertically injected onto the face of a galvanized steel sheet 48 to be measured. The center of the reflected light from the sheet 48 is shielded by a center light shielding prism 14. The intensity of the reflected light, the center of which is shielded, is measured by a photodetector 20, and the alloying degree of the sheet 48 is obtained by an alloying degree calculating means 30 from the measured intensity. The reflected light is two-dimensionally detected by a two-dimensional image pickup element 22, the broadenings X and Y of the reflected light in the two directions and the center positions X and Y are calculated by a broadening calculating means 32, and the intensity of the reflected light affected by the warpage of the sheet 48 is preferably corrected using an intensity correcting means 34.

    • PURPOSE:To perform the detection of a beveling edge part of good accuracy by focusing the reflecting light of a slit, etc. irradiating on a beveling face and base material from the slant upper part on a slit plate and by subjecting only the reflecting light passing the inside of the slit to a one dimentional signal processing. CONSTITUTION:A slit light or scanned 30 spot light 22 is irradiated at right angles with the longitudinal direction of beveling at the angle of 30-60 deg. from the light source 12 of the slant upper part in beveling longitudinal direction of a base material 1. The reflecting light of these irradiating lights is focused for image formation on the slit plate 26 having a long and slender slit 24 in the direction intersecting at right angles with the beveling longitudinal direction by the objective lens 23 having an image magnification (m). The width of the slit of this case is 0.5mm. for instance. The transmitting light passing through the slit 24 thereof only is detected by a detector 25 and the output signal thereof is subjected to one dimentional process by a signal processing circuit 31, and the position of the beveling edge part is detected. It is thus made easy to provide a profile device on each torch provided to a tandem even in a multilayer welding and the elevation in welding quantity can be taken place.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain an ingot having uniform quality without giving any abnormal fluctuation in stress to the ingot, by detecting the fluctuation in the displacement of support rolls for the ingot, etc. and correcting the bending of the rolls in the direction where the rate and period of bending of the rolls are made uniform. CONSTITUTION:Displacement meters 1, 2 for the rear surfaces of support rolls 8, 9 for an ingot of a continuous casting machine which detect the bending of said rolls, load cells 4, 5, 6, 7 which measure the reaction in roll chock parts, a displacement meter 3 between the roll chocks which measures the fluctuation in the gap between the roll chocks, and a target 3' thereof, etc. are provided to detect the fluctuation in stress, the fluctuation in displacememnt or the rate relating to these fluctuations owing to the bending of the rolls. When the detected values exceed set values, cooling water is sprayed from cooling water headers 12, 13 for correcting upper and lower rolls to the projecting parts of the rolls 8, 9 during the time when the recesses of said rolls are in contact with the ingot 14 under drawing. The bending of the rolls is thus corrected and the gap between the rolls in the axial direction of the rolls is made roughly constant.
