    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outer handle structure of a door of a vehicle, which can be retrofitted to an existing door handle, which enables commonality of components for the types of vehicles, and which has a door opening prevention mechanism. SOLUTION: This outer handle structure 1 of the door of the vehicle includes a handle base member 4 which is fixed to the door 300, an outer handle 2 which is swingably provided on the handle base member 4, and a linkage mechanism 8 which has a connecting rod 34 moved by the swing motion of the outer handle 2 and which transfers the swing motion of the outer handle 2 to a door latch mechanism 6. The outer handle structure 1 is also equipped with a bracket 72 which is attached to the handle base member 4 in close vicinity of the connecting rod 34 and provided separately from the handle base member 4, and an inertial stopper member 74 which is swingably provided in the bracket 72 and which moves onto the movement locus of the engaging portion 76, attached to the connecting rod 34, by an inertial force at the collision of the vehicle, so as to regulate the movement of the connecting rod 34 in a door opening direction.
