    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high capacity type nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery having a long service life even when it is charged to a high-voltage region.
      SOLUTION: This nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery is provided with a positive electrode including a nickel-containing lithium composite oxide, a negative electrode containing graphite and a non aqueous electrolyte, wherein a charge upper-limit voltage is 4.25 to 4.6 V. In the battery, the negative electrode contains an additive reacting with lithium at a potential electropositive as compared with that of graphite; and, when it is assumed that battery theoretical capacity based on the weight of the nickel-containing lithium composite oxide and the charge upper-limit voltage and the weight of the graphite in a part where the positive and negative electrodes face each other are A and B, respectively, A/B is 300 to 340 mAh/g; and when it is assumed that irreversible capacity of the positive electrode and irreversible capacity of a part of the negative electrode facing the positive electrode are C and D, respectively, C≥D is satisfied.
