CONSTITUTION:Straightness errors of guide surface 2 and specimen 1 at the starting point of measurement are represented as X0, Y0, those at the position No.1 as X1, Y1, X2, Y2 at the position No.2 and measurements of individual displacement detectors A, B and C at the starting point of measurement are represented as DOA, DOB and DOC. Further, measurements at the point No.K obtained by travels per each distance l of the detecting table 3 are represented as DKA, DKB and DKC and those at the point No.K+i as DK+iA, DK+iB and DK+iC and the straightness XK+2 of the guide surface 2 at the point No.K+2 are calculated by the equation I. Further, the straightness YK+2 of the specimen 1 is calculated by the equation II and forward and backward longitudinal vibrations thetaK+1 by the equation III respectively.

    • PURPOSE:To decrease the camber at the preceding end of a rolled material by rolling with dissimilar diameter rolls by lubricating highly the corresponding part on the outside of the rolled material where the camber is generated by the rolling with dissimilar diameter rolls. CONSTITUTION:There is a tendency toward cambering of the top of a rolled material at high curvature in rolling with dissimilar diameter rolls using an upper work roll 2 of a small diameter and a lower work roll 3 of a large diaeeter. The surface in the top part corresponding to the outside of the camber of the material 1 prior to rolling is lubricated selectively so as to be lubricated more highly than the other surface. The surface roughness of the roll 2 in such rolling mill is set larger than the surface roughness of the roll 2, and the camber at the preceding end of the material 1 is prevented by the difference in roughness and the same is further compensated with the difference in the lubrication on both surfaces of the rolled material.

    • PURPOSE:To lessen damage due to differential abrasion by forcedly lubricating between a boring main spindle and a milling main spindle. CONSTITUTION:A lubricating device includes a pressure storage chamber 16 filled with lubricating oil which of formed on the outer peripheral portion of a milling main spindle 1, a hole 18 for connecting between the pressure storage chamber 16 and the inside diameter portion of the milling main spindle 1, and means comprising a piston 13 for feeding lubricating oil in the pressure storage chamber 16 through the hole 18 to the inside diameter portion of the milling main spindle 1 by pressure. Lubricating oil filling the pressure storage chamber 16 is discharged by working of a piston 13 pressed by a spring 15 to pass through the hole 18 to an oil groove (not shown) mounted on the inside diameter portion of the milling main spindle 1, so that the periphery of a contact surface between the milling main spindle 1 and a boring main spindle 6 is supplied with adequate lubricating oil. Therefore, even if a milling tool is mounted on the end portion of the boring main spindle 6 to perform milling, there is a slight differential abrasion generated at a contact surface between the milling main spindle 1 and the boring main spindle 6.
