Border column detecting circuits 9 or 11 in the main scanning and sub-scanning directions decide that out of main scanning data sandwiching the scanning window, one row of either of other side two columns is wholly 0 (or 1), one row of either of opposite side two rows is wholly 1 (or 0) and then, the main scanning line data including a central picture element are border rows, and outputs 1 to signal lines 10 or 12. A weighting adding value is added to a binary processing, and further, an isolated picture element located in the backward direction of the scanning window which occurs newly by resetting an isolated picture element and a central picture element located in the forward direction of the scanning window.

    • PURPOSE: To read an original picture with high accuracy at an arbitrary scan line density by providing a reading means for reading picture information, 1st and 2nd sampling means and an arithmetic means for carrying out arithmetic mean of image signals of respective reference read picture elements with respect to the sub-scan direction from the output of the 2nd sampling means.
      CONSTITUTION: The output of a digital signals correcting device 8 is converted into an analog signal by a D/A converter 10. A image signal applied to an A/D converter 11 is an analog picture signal which has been obtained by the photoelectric transfer with use of one-dimensional solid-state image sensor 4 and is subjected to the corrections such as shooting correction or gradation one. This analog picture signal is again converted into a digital signal by the A/D converter 11. The frequency of the sampling pulse of an A/D converter 7 is decided by the number of picture elements of said sensor 4 and the reading time of one line. However, the frequency of the sampling pulse of the A/D converter 11 is so constituted to be freely set, and the number of read-out picture elements of one line of the frequency can be modified.
