    • PURPOSE:To make the roughness of plate surface uniform over the total length of a steel strip by obtaining the proper draft of the final stand so as to make the roughness of plate surface constant corresponding to the rolling speed preliminarily, and rolling down the final stand with this proper rolling force in the temper rolling of the steel strip. CONSTITUTION:At the time of temper rolling the steel strip 1 is with work rolls 2a, 2a' of two stand tandem temper rolling mills 2, the rolling speed signal detected by a rolling speed detector 3 connected to the work roll 2a' of the 2nd stand is transformed by a signal transforming unit 4. The proper rolling force is calculated by a storing and arithmetric unit 5 from the speed signal, the condition of rolled stock and the rolling force signal sent through a rolling force signal transforming unit 9 from a rolling force detector 8 attached to the rolling roll, added with the signal inputted by a plate surface roughness target value setting and inputting means 10. This calculated value is amplified with an amplifier 6 and outputted to a rolling force control mechanism 7, and the rolling is executed with the prescribed rolling force. The steel strip of uniform roughness and the size of cross-buckle can thus be obtained.

    • PURPOSE:To produce a stainless steel strip having good surface characteristics with good productivity by subjecting the cold rolled stainless steel strip to a specific amt. of Ni plating then annealing the steel strip while maintaining an in-furnace pressure at the pressure higher than the atmospheric pressure according to contents of Si, Mn and Cr in the steel strip. CONSTITUTION:Ni plating is formed to >=0.01g/m to on the surface of the steel strip after cold rolling to prevent the temper color thereof. The steel strip is then annealed in a continuous annealing furnace of a reducing atmosphere while the in-furnace pressure higher than the atmospheric pressure is maintained according to the contents of Si, Mn and Cr in the steel strip. More specifically, the respective lower limit in-furnace pressures are calculated by using formulas I, II, III to maintain the concn. of gaseous O2 at the permissible concn. for coloring. In formulas, Si, Mn, Cr; the respective contents (weight %) in the steel, PSi, PMn, PCr; the lower limit in-furnace pressures (mmH2O) for the respective elements under which the temper color is not generated, k; the coefft. determined by the in-furnace structure. The stainless steel strip having the excellent temper color and oxidation resistance is thus produced with high performance.
