摘要： PURPOSE:To improve the corrosion resistance and strength of a base metal and also to improve the corrosion resistance in a welding part by incorporating an element forming an inter-metallic compound together with Zr to a Zr-Nb alloy and by precipitating thereby an intermetallic compound in a welding and a welding heat affected part. CONSTITUTION:One or more kinds of elements forming the inter-metallic compound with Zr are incorporated to the Zr-Nb alloy for fuel assembly. As the intermetallic compound-forming elements, Fe, Cr, Ni, V, Mn, Mo, C, Si, etc., belonging to groups IVA-VIII and group IVB are selected. The above elements are incorporated by about 0.01-5wt%. This alloy member has in the welding part a structure in which inter-metallic compounds are dispersedly precipitated in a martensitic structure and accordingly corrosion resistance in the welding and the welding heat affected part can be improved and also exfoliation at the member surface can be prevented.

摘要： PURPOSE:To prevent grain type stress corrosion cracking and to prevent intergrain corrosion after welding by applying combination treatment of local soluting process and low temperature heat treatment to stabilized austenitic stainless steel added with Nb and Ti. CONSTITUTION:Local soluting process is applied to the area to be welded of stabilized austenitic stainless steel that contains Nb and Ti so that contained carbon is transformed into NbC and TiC to prevent formation of Cr23C6 at grain boundaries. The treated steel is then heated to a temperature and is held at that temperature within the condition in which no precipitation of Cr23C6 occurs. Solid solution C in the locally soluting treated area and at a relatively higher area duffuses to a low region. Such locally soluting area is small as compared with the entire area, and therefore, solid solution C is easy to diffuse and its concentration is minimized. When the content of C becomes 0.02% and less, the area are no more sensitive to welding heat, and thus generation of intergrain corrosion or stress corrosion cracks are prevented.
