The annular grooves 2a, 2b, 2c each has a narrow lower groove 201 and a wider upper groove 200, while the aforementioned guides 6a, 6b, 6c each has an upper guide element in contact with the wall of the upper groove 200 and a lower guide element in contact with the wall of the lower groove 201.

    • PURPOSE:To provide the subject rope composed of specific three-layer structure and having high safety to cause little recoiling in the breakage of the rope because the load can be temporarily supported in the case of rope breakage with a remaining unbroken part left after the partial breakage of the rope. CONSTITUTION:An inner layer rope 1 having high elongation at break and low elastic coefficient is placed as a safety member at the center of the objective rope. An intermediate layer rope 2 and an outer layer rope 3 having a braided structure and an elongation at break smaller than that of the rope 1 are placed outside of the inner layer 1 as a member to support the tensile load. The inner layer rope 1 is preferably a three-component rope of high- elongation nylon yarn, etc., having an elongation at break of 30-35%. The material for the intermediate layer rope 2 and the outer layer rope 3 is preferably high-tenacity polyester yarn, etc. An interlayer friction decreasing means composed of a coating film made of a material having low frictional coefficient (e.g. fluororesin) is preferably placed between the rope 1 and the rope 2 to improve the performance and the reliability of the rope.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily and inexpensively producing a long braided fiber rope up to infinity without causing a local increase in diameter and without requiring special additional equipment to a braiding machine; and to provide a rope. SOLUTION: The method for obtaining a braided rope comprises withdrawing n fiber strands (with the proviso that n is an even number ≥8) from bobbin carriers, respectively, passing the fiber strands through a stranding die, braiding the fiber strands and affording the braided rope. In the method, the following steps are repeated. The tail parts of optional braided strands at the braided rope end in the inlet of the stranding die are tied to the tips of the strands of the next lot to lead the tied parts to the stranding die and continue braiding. The tips of the strands of the next lot are tied to the other braided strands for each required length and the tied parts are led to the stranding die to carry out the braiding.
