The drive motor 11 works as a synchronous motor when the engine is in continuous operation. The revolutionary speed of the motor 11 is synchronized with the AC voltage whose frequency forms a specified ratio to the revolutionary speed of the engine.

Thereby, system support rigidity of the shaft end 5a on the opposite output side of the shaft system 5 is set to a high value (i.e., optimum to a shaft system). As a result, By sufficiently separating the number of vertical vibrations of a shaft system away from a twist resonance point, the generation of an exciting force transmitted to the ship hull 4 through an engine from the shaft system is reduced.
