    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize highly accurate positioning in the rotation direction in a short period of time.
      SOLUTION: A rotation positioning device 1 positions an object by rotating it at a prescribed angle with a rotating body 12 arranged freely rotatably to a base 10. A locking part is arranged to the rotating body 12. An engaging member is freely movably installed to the base side. The engaging member and the locking part can be circumferentially engaged with each other. The rotating body is rotated by a driving device 14 while the engaging member is separated from the locking part.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the facility cost of an indexing device by increasing the degrees of freedom of workpiece alignment when charging a workpiece and simplifying setting of a workpiece phase reference. SOLUTION: This indexing device has, for example, a turnable workpiece holding part 10 (10a, 10b), a seating part 20 placed such that a prescribed extrusion end 2b of a workpiece 2 abuts thereon in a reference phase for indexing, and a servo mechanism. The workpiece 2 is charge into a prescribed position of the indexing device, and is held by the workpiece holding part 10 (10a, 10b). The servo mechanism turns a turn table 10b of the workpiece holding part. An abutment of the prescribed extrusion end of the workpiece 2 against the seating part 20 is indexed by an increase of the current of a servo motor, and is set as a workpiece phase reference. Since the workpiece 2 can be charged into this indexing device in an arbitrary phase, setting of the workpiece phase reference can be conducted easily.
