    • PURPOSE:To enable a patterning on the surface of a steel plate on the way of rolling, to shorten a delivery time and to reduce the equipment cost by providing the means to attach and detach between the upper and lower work rolls the work roll working the one face or both faces of a thick steel plate or the work roll and dummy roll. CONSTITUTION:In the case of performing a patterning on the upper face of a thick steel plate, the roll 1 for working is made fittable under the upper work roll W1, a light rolling reduction is performed with the lower work roll W2 and roll 1 and the pattern of the roll 1 is transferred on the upper face of the thick steel plate. The rolls W1, W2 are turned in the same direction each other. In the case of working on the upper and lower both faces of the thick steel plate, the thick steel plate is subjected to a light rolling reduction by the roll 2 for lower working and roll 1 and the each roll pattern is transferred on the surface of the thick steel plate. These rolls are fitted to the operation position by a swing arm but may be detached in the roll axial core direction. A dummy roll 3 is inserted between the roll 1 and roll W1 to prevent that the pattern of the roll 1 is transferred on the roll W1.

    • PURPOSE:To control with good accuracy the plate thickness distribution in width direction of rolling plate and to elevate the quality by improving a three high rolling mill equipped with a stay roll at either one part of a pair of working rolls. CONSTITUTION:A lower working roll 2 of upper and lower working rolls 1, 2 is made smaller in diameter than the upper working roll 1 and a crown 3 of which end part is made smaller in diameter is provided at the end part of respectively opposite side of the upper and lower working rolls 1, 2 and a stay roll 4 supporting the lower working roll 2 is equipped. The upper and lower working rolls 1, 2 and stay roll 4 are then supported freely rotatably by a journal boxes 5, 6 and 7 which are arranged to a housing window 8 of rolling mill and a three high rolling mill equipped with the upper and lower working rolls 1, 2 and stay roll 4 supporting the lower working roll 2 is constituted. The rolling is then carried out with adjusting the gap between the working rolls 1, 2 and with shifting the working rolls 1, 2 so as to position the crown starting part at the inner side of the width end part of a rolling plate 14. In case the plate thickness distribution in width direction is caused on the rolling material 14, the working rolls 1, 2 are adjusted to the desired bending curve with the operation of hydraulic pistons 11, 12, 13.

CONSTITUTION:A worm gear axis is connected to the driving source of an upward rolling-reduction device through a universal coupling and bevel gears, etc. A transmission axis 19 is provided from its end in the slantly upward direction through a universal coupling 18. The actuating part of an indication device is protected from scales, etc. by covering the axis 19 and its vicinities with a casing 22 fixed to the frame of a mill. A differential planetary-gear device is provided, through a universal coupling 20 connected to the axis 19, to connect its sun-gear axis to the axis 19. A scale 38 for rolling reduction is provided to the outer circumference of a free internal gear rotating at the reduced speed under a large reduction gear ratio, and a needle 39 of scale is arranged on the casing. By this mechanism, the indication of optional rolling reduction is accurately performed by the large reduction gear ratio, and troubles caused by scale sticking, etc. are also prevented.

    • PURPOSE:To enhance mill constants and to rearrange rolls easily by making intermediate roll chocks fixable with the aids of wedges provided to the upper end of a housing window. CONSTITUTION:An open-top type housing is constituted of a housing main body 10 and a housing cap 23. In the inside of this housing, rolls 3, 6, 9 are supported through roller bearings 2, 5, 8, and upper, intermediate, and lower roll chocks are disposed. Further, supporting distance-pieces 13 are attached to the lower part of the housing window. Moreover, fixing distance-pieces 17 are fixed with the aids of wedges 21 set at the upper end of the housing window. And the intermediate roll chocks 4 are fixed from the upper side with the aids of the pieces 17. By using this three high rolling mill, mill constants are enhanced and roll rearrangement is easily performed.
