    • PURPOSE:To make possible high-draft rolling by disposing a small-diameter work roll between a large-diameter work roll and backup roll and grasping the small- diameter work roll under the pressure by reinforcing rolls. CONSTITUTION:The driven large-diameter work roll 1, the non-driven small- diameter work roll 31 which rolls a strip 2 together with said roll and the driven large-diameter backup roll 4 which supports the roll 31 are superposed. The roll 31 is grasped from the front and rear under the pressure by reinforcing rolls 5, 6. Since the roll 31 is not-driven, the roll is released from the limitation in torsional rigidity and since said roll is grasped and held under the pressure by the rolls 5, 6, the roll is released from the limitation in bending rigidity. The considerable reduction in the diameter of said roll hence the high-draft rolling are made possible.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent defects in quality and the fatigue life of a plate material, by detecting the fluid pressures in cylinders which correspond to an upper and a lower roll, and controlling the supply of fluid to both the cylinders in accordance with the differential pressure between pressure signals. CONSTITUTION:In a rolling mill having three rolls provided parallelly, fluid pressures in cylinders 13 and 16 of an upper and a lower roll are detected by pressure detectors 26 and 27, whose output signals are sent to amplifiers 28 and 29. The output of the amplifier 28 is sent to and converted by a code converter 30, whose output is inputted to an adder 31 together with the output of the amplifier 29. The adder 31 adds both the signals together to output the difference signal to a pressure controller 32. The pressure controller 32 supplies a fluid from pipe 33 to pipe 34 or 35 communicating with the cylinder 13 or 16 in accordance with the difference signal to eliminate the fluid pressure difference between the cylinders 13 and 16. This mechanism balances the said fluid pressures invariably to improve the defects in quality and the fatigue life of a plate material.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a three-staged rolling mill capable of controlling shape by small numbers of rolls by providing an upper and lower working rolls bending machine and by providing the upper reinforcing roll exchangeably according to the width of plate. CONSTITUTION:The diameter of the upper working roll 1 of the three-staged rolling mill is made smaller than that of the lower working roll 2, and the diameter of the upper reinforcing roll 8 is also made larger than that of the upper working roll 1. And, the diameter of the upper reinforcing roll 8 is made the same as that of the lower working roll 2, and furthermore the acting point of pressure load is regulated according to the surface length LB as a skirted roll. The reinforcing roll 8 is exchanged according to the plate width of the rolling metal 7 for making optimum shape control. Each of the both working rolls 1 and 2 is provided with the benders 12 and 13 to control effectively the plate crown. Thus, it is possible to roll good quality rolling metals with inexpensive rolling mill.
