    • PURPOSE: To drill a temperature measuring hole with high accuracy of verticality and depth in bricks at the top of a coke oven in operation, by using a rotating drill equipped with an exchangeable drilling bit at a lower end, mounted vertically on an oven top plane and adapted to move up and down freely.
      CONSTITUTION: A guide pillar 7 is held on a flat rest 5 vertically to an oven tope plane 4 of a combustion chamber 1 through adjustment of regulators 6 and supporters 9 and an electric core drill consisting of a guide pipe 14 having a drilling bit at a lower end (15 is a hose through which a cooling medium is injected.) attached to the guide pillar 7 so that the drill may rotate and move up and down freely. A cooling medium is injected from the lower end of the guide pipe 14 and the drill is lowered to make a hole in brick layers 2 at the top of the oven. The drilling is done (1) with a rectangular tip to drill to the depth of about 300mm, (2) with a round tip to drill a hole of desired depth and (3) with a planing bit to form a required temperature measuring hole.

    • PURPOSE:To cut a cylindrical surface with high accuracy using no special cutting machine by a construction wherein a plurality of bits symmetrical about a center axis are formed at the end of a tubular shank, and the bits comprise a bite face substantially parallel to the plane passing the center axis and a flank having a necking slope relative to the plane perpendicular to the center axis. CONSTITUTION:A shank part (b) is attached to the chuck of a driller or the rotatable section of a lathe. With the shank part being fed in a similar way to drilling, a material 7 to be cut is cut with bits 5-1, 5-2 to form the cylindrical surface of diameter D. The part of the cylindrical surface of diameter D and a land (i) are fitted with each other in a sliding relation to hold the center axes of the cut material 7 and cutting tool in a concentric state. Because the cut material 7 is cut by two bits 5-1, 5-2 symmetrical about the center axis (d) simultaneously, there causes no bending deformation.

    • PURPOSE:To contrive an improvement in durability of the whole of a drill and saving in material by making only a tip holder exchangeable at the time of wear of a tip, by fixing the tip holder, the circumferential face of the tip of which is provided with a plurality of tips, on the tip of a drill body detachably and attachably. CONSTITUTION:A core drill is constituted by connecting a tip holder 2 with the tip of a drill body 1 detachably and attachably.
