摘要： PURPOSE:To cause reaction of dehydration and thermal decomposition in inorg. crystals, etc. and to obtain products of a high grade by supplying a hot gas into the outside cylinder of a double cylinder system to heat the inside cylinder uniformly and supplying a protecting gas into the inside cylinder to apply gaseous sealing. CONSTITUTION:An outside cylinder 1 and an inside cylinder 2 contained concentrically in said cylinder are provided rotatably, and gaseous sealing chambers 11 are provided near both end parts of the cylinder 1 and the cylinder 2. A hot gas such as combustion gas is supplied between the inside cylinder and the outside cylinder sealed by the chambers 11 through a hot gas supplying port 5, and the hot gas is circulated by using a fan 6 to heat the inside cylinder uniformly. A protecting gas is supplied through a supply port 7 into the inside cylinder and is discharged through a discharge port 8 to the outside, whereby gaseous sealing is applied to the inside cylinder and high airtightness is maintained. In such a device, the reaction of dehydration and thermal decomposition is caused in the inorg. crystals (e.g., hydrated magnesium chloride double salts) and org. crystal salts supplied from one end of the cylinder 2, whereby products of a high grade are produced industrially and continuously.

摘要： PURPOSE:To enable high temp. sintering and to reduce the time necessary for sintering by granulating CaO, Al2O3 and CaF2 as powdered starting materials and forming coated layers of high m.p. CaO on the surfaces of the granules. CONSTITUTION:Part of CaO as a powdered starting material, Al2O3 and CaF2 as powdered starting materials are mixed and granulated. The primary granules are coated with the remainder of the CaO in a thickness corresponding to 5- 25% of the grain size. The coated secondary granules are sintered to form a granular sintered body, and the sintered body is pulverized. By this method the powdered CaF2 contacts scarcely with the hot inner wall during the sintering, so high temp. sintering is enabled, and the time necessary for sintering is reduced.

摘要： PURPOSE:To convert magnesium oxide to magnesium chloride, by heating a magnesium chloride melting apparatus having a refractory surface layer constituting the inner wall thereof contaminated with magnesium oxide, to which a powdery carbon substance, a chlorine gas and carbon tetrachloride are added, to a specific temp. CONSTITUTION:A powdery carbon substance, a chlorine gas and/or carbon tetrachloride are introduced into a magnesium chloride melting apparatus for preparing metal magnesium having a refractory surface layer constituting the inner wall thereof contaminated by the accumulation and the penetration of magnesium oxide and heated to 650-900 deg.C, pref., 700-850 deg.C for 1-20hr to convert magnesium oxide to magnesium chloride. The wt. of the powdery carbon substance to magnesium oxide is adjusted to about 1/4 and the mol ratio of the powdery carbon substance and the chlorine gas is adjusted to about 1:2. In addition, when carbon tetrachloride is used, it is used in an amount of about 1/2 times mol to magnesium oxide.
