When a load at or above a predetermined value is applied to the seat back 12 in a normal condition in which the vehicle seat 1 is directed forward, both of the first and second movable supporting mechanisms 23 and 24 are operated toward the projecting position by an operation mechanism 90. When the vehicle seat 1 is turned in a horizontal direction, one movable supporting mechanism 23 is operated toward the projecting position, and the other movable supporting mechanism 24 is held in a non-operation condition.

The transverse slide mechanism 74 arranged at a position deviated forwardly in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle from the hinge pin 72, in other words, the position on the turning end side to the hinge pin 72 has a structure in which a play between the slide rail 84 and the slider 86 is generally small. Thus, the vehicular seat 20 can be turned while suppressing the play of the vehicular seat 20.
