CONSTITUTION:At the opening side part of a casing 96, a through hole 104 crossed at right angles with an empty chamber 98 is made up there. In this through hole 104, its flow passage area is formed so as to be throttled by a piston 100 in a state that the piston 100 moves forward against the energizing force of a spring 106. When operation gets started, suction pressure drops to some extent whereby a throttle valve 109 is set in motion, so that pressure inside an inner space 103 is gradually released via an interconnecting hole 108, and the opening of the through hole 104 grows large.

    • PURPOSE:To disconnect a clutch in time of perceiving anything unusual in a scroll type compressor as well as to aim at preventing a car from damageable causes, by installing a rotation detector composed of a coiled magnetic body in position toward the kinetic trace of a detected member consisting of a magnetic material which exercises a periodic motion inside a housing. CONSTITUTION:On the outer circumferential surface of a front housing 2, there is provided with a setting hole 2b in order to correspond to a rotation trace on the outer circumferential surface of a balance weight 14 as a detected member exercising a periodic motion, and an iron core 30 as a magnetic body and a detector 27 consisting of a detection coil 31 and a permanent magnet 32 or the like are fitted in this place. An amplifier 34 is connected to the detection coil 31, while a pulse presence detector 35 is connected to this amplifier 34. And, locking happens due to seizuer or binding or the biting of foreign substances whereby a speed of rotation becomes dropped, and when this rotation speed comes to less than the setting value preset in the pulse presence detector 35, an OFF signal is outputted from the detector 35 to a solenoid clutch K, and operation of the compressor is stopped, thus any damage to a car such as clutch breakdown and/or belt snapping can be prevented.

Consequently, a spool 11 is moved toward the suction chamber 9 to decrease the open area of a suction port 9' to reduce the compression capacity of the compression chamber 6. Motive power applied to a compressor is thus decreased to improve the accelerating property of a vehicle.

During normal operation, the lubricating oil in the separator chamber 17 is fed into the oil supply groove 22a, and part of this is sent to the back chamber 9'. Thus lubricating and sealing performance in the vane groove 9 can be enhanced.

At the compressor stoppage, when a large quantity of liquid cooling medium flows into the compressor and its level rises higher than the height H, the gas is confined within the swarf plate room 16 accompanied with the close-up of the inflow hole 41 by the liquid cooling medium in the swarf plate room 16. Therefore, a sufficient buffering action can be provided by the residual gas at startup.
