SOLUTION: The reactor vessel 24 is composed of a spherical vessel part 22 and a cylindrical part 23, and a steam generator 45 containing a reactor core 38, a heat insulating layer 37, and a coil part 62 of an electromagnetic pump, and a lead coolant 41 are accommodated on the inside. Plural control rod driving mechanisms 34 passing through a rotating plug 31 blocking the upper opening of the reactor vessel 24 are installed. A control rod 76 is composed of an absorbing body 78 and a lower guide tube 77 containing the absorbing body 78. Bouyancy is utilized in a scram action of the control rod 76 to conduct rising operation to ensure the safety of a reactor.

SOLUTION: This control rod driving mechanism comprises a drive part housing 8 raised on a rotating plug 7 for blocking the upper end opening of a reactor vessel, an upper guide pipe 21 connected to the lower surface of the drive part housing 8, the upper guide pipe 21 being extended through the rotating plug 7 so that the lower end is opposed to a lower guide pipe 29 within the reactor core, and a control rod 4 vertically moved by a drive shaft 10 provided within the drive part housing 8, so that the control rod 4 and the drive shaft 10 integrally fall and inserted into the lower guide pipe 29 in the event of a scram. In this mechanism, a load detector 27 as a vibration detecting system is mounted on the lower part of a ball nut 15 within the drive part housing 8.

An armature 14 is fitted to the upper end section of the handling rod 13 via a first elastic mechanism 20. A recess 14 p is formed at the upper face center of the armature 14. An electromagnet section 15 is fitted to the lower end section of the drive shaft 12, and a projection 15p coupled with the recess 14p is formed at the lower face center of the electromagnet section 15. The electromagnet section 15 is attracted to the armature 14 with the projection 15p and the recess 14p coupled together when the drive shaft 12 is located at the lower position.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To passively shut down an emergency reactor shutdown system of a fast breeder reactor without any dependence of a control rod. SOLUTION: A reactor shutdown device is composed of a core component and a thermal stretching mechanism 17. The core component 1 is provided with a cylindrical body 8 having a neutron absorber filled in a wrapper tube 4 and a plug attached rod 13 to which a plug 12 for dropping the neutron absorber 10 is attached. The thermal stretching mechanism 17 is so formed that a sliding guide 19 and a thermal expansion medium 21 are sealed in an outer cylinder 18 and a piston 22 lowering along the sliding guide 19 is sealed by a bellows. The thermal stretching mechanism 17 actuates by sensing increase in temperature of the coolant in the circumference of the reactor container and presses down the plug 12 so that the neutron absorber 10 is made to drop to the core level and passively shut down the reactor.

CONSTITUTION: Primary system piping 4 is connected to the lower part side face of a reactor vessel 1 containing coolant 3 in a rector core 2, and a primary main pump 5 is coupled to the primary system piping 4. A drive motor 6 and a generator 7 are connected to the primary system main pump 5. An alternating and direct current transformer 8 is connected to the generator. The reactor core is controlled so that a control rod 11 may be taken out or inserted. A shield plug 9 is provided on the upper end opening of the reactor vessel 1, a control rod drive mechanism 10 is vertically set on the shield plug 9, and an extension pipe 12 is mounted on a scream magnet 13 of the control rod drive mechanism 10. The scream magnet 13 and an A/D converter are electrically connected to each other. The scream magnet is moved up and down by rotation of a ball screw 14.
