    • PURPOSE:To calibrate a vehicle position with high accuracy by providing an on-vehicle antenna directivity in breadthwise directions of a vehicle to a vertical polarized signal from a roadside antenna and in lengthwise directions of the vehicle to a horizontal polarized signal. CONSTITUTION:The on-vehicle antenna 7 and a hybrid circuit 11 are used and both feed points 5 and 6 of the antenna 7 are fitted at right angles to the traveling direction of the vehicle. Then a vertical polarized radio wave is radiated from the roadside antenna and its received signal is led out through the opposite-phase side terminal 15 of the circuit 11 to obtain the high reception directivity to the vertical polarized radio wave arriving in the direction perpendicular to the traveling direction of the vehicle. For the purpose, only this vertical polarized radio wave is used for navigation and navigation data is accurately calibrated. Further, the horizontal polarized radio wave is radiated from the roadside antenna, the feed points 5 and 6 are fitted in the traveling direction of the vehicle, and a received signal is led out through the terminal 15 as well as the vertical polarized wave, thereby obtaining the high reception directivity to the horizontal polarized radio wave in the direction perpendicular to the vehicle traveling direction.

    • PURPOSE:To expand the signal reception enable range and to obtain a reception characteristic with fidelity to a transmission signal by providing a guard-shaped conductor to the outer circumference of an earth plate mounted with a radiation element so as to exclude the effect of fading due to multi-path. CONSTITUTION:A rod-shaped radiation element 4 is mounted to an antenna base 2 whose upper face is used as an earth plate 1 via a holding member 3 made of a dielectric. Then a disk 5 whose outer shape is formed to be a guard is formed to the circumferential part of the earth plate 1. Moreover, the radiation element 4 is projected from a length corresponding to a 1/4 wavelength from the earth plate 1. Furthermore, the diameter of the disk 5 is nearly 1.2 wavelength and the thickness is selected to be nearly 1mm taking the strength into account. In addition, the diameter of the earth plate 1 is selected to be nearly 0.5 wavelength and the height up to the disk 5 is set to nearly 0.1 wavelength. Thus, the radio wave is received by a directivity based on the relation between the earth plate and the radiation element.

    • PURPOSE:To attain a desired directivity pattern without reducing the mechanical strength by connecting an antenna board electrically to an earth plate via plural short-circuit posts of a prescribed length placed on one and same plane and providing a feeding point at a symmetrical position while clipping the short- circuit post arrays. CONSTITUTION:The rectangular antenna board 3 is fitted in parallel with the earth plate vis plural rod shaped short-circuit pots 2' placed on one and same plate to the earth plate 1 and feeding points 4, 5 are provided between the earth plate 1 and the antenna board 3 at a symmetrical position around the short-circuit post arrays 2. The distance d1 between the antenna board 3 and the earth plate 1 is selected to a value smaller than the wavelength and the distance d2 between the short-circuit posts 2' is selected to a value smaller than 1/10 wavelength. Thus, the light weight is attained possibly while the sufficient antenna supporting strength is ensured and the prescribed directivity pattern is attained.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain an antenna system by covering respective reflector conductors and radiator conductors with a radome and protecting them against wind pressure, fixing those to the inside or surface of a wall body in the radome and protecting them against acceleration, and fitting parts joined with the radome side wall or ceiling in fitting structure and facilitating attachment and detachment. CONSTITUTION:The wall body 11 is made of the same material as that of the radome 6 or a dielectric with low loss to in-use wavelength in a cross shape, and reflector conductors 2-4-2-1 and 20, 21-24, and 3-4-3-1 and 31-34 are buried internally. The wall body 11 is also made of the same material and provided to the intermediate part of the wall body 11, and radiators 51-54 are embedded internally. The reflector conductors 2 and radiator conductors are covered with the radome 6 and conductor elements and wall body are united, so the conductor elements are protected from a wind pressure load and not damaged with force based upon acceleration. The radome wall can be made thin by the presence of the wall body and electric performance is improved. Further, the fitting structure is employed to join the side wall or ceiling of the radome to facilitate the attachment and detachment.
