Also, a set elongation percentage correcting amount is calculated from the tension and the plate thickness, the plate width and a coefficient of correction of a strip 6, which are inputted from a setting condition setting panel 3. Subsequently, the set elongation percentage is controlled continuously by a set elongation percentage controller 5. In this way, at the time of tension leveling, a variation of camber in the longitudinal direction of the strip due to a variation of an actual elongation percentage is reduced, and the shape and the yield are improved.

Remote adjusting unit 13 for tool cutting surface height 13 operates by power for remote adjusting unit operation under the command of signal supply unit 14 to adjust the height of cutting tool 11 in different-thickness welding.

CONSTITUTION:The flash butt welder consisting of fixed table 2 and traveling table 3 centers the tail end part of leading steel belt 1 on the head part of following steel belt 1-2 and clamps them by lower shearing blades 6 and 6-2 serving both as lower electrodes and upper electrodes 4 and 4-2. Upper shearing blades 5 and 5-2 are both rotatable round blades, which are supported on rails 21 and 21-2 via saddles 7 and 7-2 and movable along the weld line. In said constitution, lower blades 6 and 6-2 are straight ones, so that curvature 30 seldom occurs. Additionally, the conventional titled welder needs to perform going and returning motion for every welding, but this welder can exhibit the function of upper shearing round blade in only one-way motion.

CONSTITUTION:When a fan 8 is rotated while performing the welding, the air flows in through the opening part at one end of the chamber 18 and then goes into the suction hood 5 along with the spatter (a). The air flow speed is uniformly adjusted by the adjustment damper 13 between the upper and lower chambers partitioned by the strip 2. The air flowed into the hood 5 and including the spatter (a) enters the separator 7 via the transport pipe 6. The separator 7 reduces the flow speed to separate the coarse grain spatter 10, and the separated spatter 10 is discharged into the backet 11 by the operation of the double open/close-type cover. Then the fine spatter is separated through the bag filter 9 to be stored in the dust box 12.
