    • PURPOSE:To detect easily and properly a coated and damaged position by transmitting a detecting signal detected out of two wheel electrodes in a receiver and a reference signal from a transmitter to a phase detector. CONSTITUTION:With the use of the transmitter 6, when an AC signal voltage is impressed on a metallic tube 2 and a counter electrode 5 to flow an AC signal current between a coated and damaged part 3 and the electrode 5, the current generates a potential distribution 27 in the ground with the damaged part 3 as a center. After water is sprayed on the ground surface right above the metallic tube 2, the receiver 7 is traveled on the surface right above the metallic tube 2, and two wheel electrodes 8 detect a potential difference between two points on the surface. On the other hand, the reference signal synchronizing with an AC signal voltage is inputted to a waveform shaping device 25 in the receiver 7 from the transmitter 6 through an electric wire 26, converted into a rectangular wave and inputted to a phase detector 9. Then signals converted into DC and AC are transmitted to a low-pass filter 10, and only the DC component of the signals is extracted by removing the AC component from said signal. Then the signal is DC-amplified 24 and displayed 11.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for locating a metal touch portion when a buried metal tube is in metal-touch with another metal tube buried in parallel therewith. SOLUTION: This method is for detecting the metal touch portion of the buried metal tube with an anticorrosive coating with the other metal tube close-buried in parallel therewith. AC signals of different frequencies are applied to the buried metal tube and to the ground from both the sides of an objective zone of detection. The intensity of a magnetic field is measured by moving magnetometric sensors disposed on a ground surface to each of measurement points placed at prescribed intervals in the extension direction of the buried metal tube while scanning in the orthogonal direction. By signal-processing obtained data, changes in the intensity of the magnetic field are compared with each other at respective measurement points corresponding to the signals of different frequencies, thereby determining whether there is a metal touch portion, and its location.     • PURPOSE:To detect the damage position of a corrosion-proof film with high accuracy, by applying AC voltage with specific frequency between a metal pipe embedded in the ground in a state coated with a corrosion-proof film and an opposed electrode and detecting potential difference of the surface of the earth by two wheel electrodes of a detection apparatus. CONSTITUTION:A metal pipe 2, to which a corrosion-proof film 1 was applied, is embedded in the ground and AC voltage with signal frequency of 1-19Hz is applied between the metal pipe 2 and an opposed electrode 6 by a transmission apparatus 7. Two wheeled electrodes 8 comprising conductive sponge rubber are provided to a detection apparatus 12 and the direction of the wheel electrodes 8 are arranged in the longitudinal direction of the metal pipe 2. The earth's surface potential generated between the wheel electrodes 8 is detected by a display apparatus 11 through a filter 9 and an amplifier 10. Because AC voltage with specific signal frequency is applied and commercial frequency or noise of the other AC or DC component is removed from the detected earth's surface potential to detect a wave from the detected earth's surface potential to detect a wave form pattern, the damage position of the corrosion- proof film can be easily detected.
