摘要： PURPOSE:To efficiently remove metal stuck to a lance without scratching the lance by shrinking the metal by cooling with a mist nozzle from the outside and by spontaneously dropping the shrunk metal into a converter. CONSTITUTION:A mist cooler 8 is placed between an upper hood 6 on the body 1 of a converter and a lance lift 7 placed at the upper part of the hood 6. After blowing is finished, a lance 3 is moved upward with the lance lift 7, and metal stuck to the lance 3 is shrunk by cooling with the mist cooler 8. The shrunk metal separates from the lance 3 and drops into the body 1 of the converter.

摘要： PURPOSE:To prevent a thermocouple from contacting with the water intruding into a holder and to improve heat transmission efficiency by putting copper powder into the bottom of the recess of a casting mold copper plate then inserting a liquid packing material therein and curing the packing material after inserting the thermocouple. CONSTITUTION:The copper powder 8 is put into the recess 1A of the casting mold copper plate 1 and liquid silicone rubber 9 is poured into the recess 1A. The plate 1 is thereafter attached to an inside wall 4A of a water box and the thermocouple 2 is inserted into the holder 3. The top end of the thermocouple 2 contacts with the bottom wall of the recess 1A by passing through the rubber 9 and the inside of the copper powder 8. The rubber 9 cures upon lapse of time and the thermocouple 2 is thereby held in the packed state. The contact of the cooling water which intrudes into the holder 3 through the clearance generated between the copper plate 1 and an O-ring 6 with the thermocouple 2 is thus obviated during casting. The heat from the plate 1 is transmitted with high transmission efficiency to the thermocouple 2 by the copper powder 8.

Thereby the flection of the ceiling of the shell 1 is prevented, the lifetime of a furnace is prolonged to a large extent, the number of processes for repair or the like is lessened and the quality of a product is improved.

The picture processor 11 transmits the signal to an arithmetic unit 12 and in there, the brightness of the steel tapping hole 3 is analyzed to find the brightness with the lapse of time and this result is displayed on the slag condition display device 14. By this method, the slag foaming condition in the furnace is directly and quantitatively grasped without delaying the time and development of slopping can be prevented.

摘要： PURPOSE:To inhibit local deformation of the central part of an ascension pipe lid caused by thermal stress and to effectively prevent the generation of crack, by thickening the center of a lid of an ascension pipe of a coke oven, thereby increasing the deformation resistance of the central part. CONSTITUTION:When a lid 14 of a coke oven ascension pipe 12 is closed, the red-hot peripheral part is dipped into water and the peripheral part and its vicinity are quenched to generate thermal stress in the lid 14. The deformation of the lid 14 caused by the thermal stress can be inhibited by forming the central part of the lid thicker than the peripheral part to increase the deformation resistance at the central part and prevent the local deformation. The rate of cooling of the central part at the closure of the lid 14 can be decreased by thickening the central part of the lid. Accordingly, the thermal shock acting to the central part can be mitigated and the generation of crack can be prevented.

This molten metal drops 37 are easily detached and removed from the sub- lance 20 together with the probe 10 after blowing and the poor fitting of the next probe does not occur.
