CONSTITUTION:There are provided a plurality of electromagnetic devices 1-3 respectively disposed in a plurality of cable ways 5-7 and actuated when each current flowing the cable ways 5-7 exceeds a predetermined value and a short- circuit means 4 for shorting the cable ways 5-7 in association with the operation of the electromagnetic devices 1-3. Accordingly, when the current above the predetermined value flows through arbitrary one of the cable ways 5-7, the electromagnetic devices 1-3 of the cable ways 5-7 is actuated and the short- circuit means 4 shorts the cable ways 5-7 in association with the operation of the electromagnetic devices 1-3, to protect a load. Therefore, the load having a low over-current resistance can be effectively protected with a simple constitution, and moreover, the electromagnetic devices 1-3 can be released easily.

    • PURPOSE:To shorten the time in which an abnormal current flows in a load incl. semiconductor element through an arc by furnishing a connector to connect polar arc runners of circuit breakers having a plurality of poles with each other. CONSTITUTION:Fixed contacts 3, 4 are connected with load terminals 2a, 2b, and movable contacts 5, 6 of movable contact pieces 7, 8 to be connected with power terminals 12, 13 are put in contact with these fixed contacts 3, 4. An arc extinguishing device 17 to extinguish arc generated between the fixed contacts 3, 4 and movable contacts 5, 6 is installed between an arc horn 14 connected on the power terminals 12, 13 side and an arc runner 16 having an arc hop-over part 15 arranged near the fixed contacts 3, 4. The arc runners 16 of the poles are connected by respective connectors 18. The connectors 18 are formed from a conductive plate and coupled together by a screw 22 so as to shortcircuit the arc runners 16 between. This can shorten the time in which an abnormal current flows through the load 1 incl. semiconductor element through an arc.

    • PURPOSE:To shorten a time required for commutation so as to attempt protection of elements by connecting an overcurrent detecting element and a shortcircuit current detecting element to the fixed contact of a circuit breaker and to a movable contact respectively and installing the commutation part of an arc running plate in the vicinity of the fixed contact. CONSTITUTION:When shortcircuit current or over current flows with contacts in the state of contact, a movable contactor 3 starts its separation and simultaneously an arc A is generated a fixed contact 1 and a movable contact 2. The arc A is prolonged by receiving driving power from an arc-extinguisher 6 and commutated in a commutation part 7 close to the contact 1. When the arc is commutated, an over current detecting unit 4 comes in its shortcircuited state. Further, when the movable contactor 3 is displaced to approach an arc running plate 8, arc A of the movable contact 2 is also commutated to the running plate 8 and a shortcircuit current detecting element 5 also comes in a shortcircuited state. Thus, and arc is commutated in a short time to enhance the protection of element.

    • PURPOSE:To promote the extension of an arc and prevent the insulation around a contact part from deteriorating by cooling a part of arc gas which returns through a reflux passage when it passes through the reflux space of a heat absorber while absorbing carbon and molton metal powder with the heat absorber. CONSTITUTION:When an arc is generated between a movable contact 13 and fix contact 11, a magnetic flux generated around the arc is concentrated to a magnetic body 8 so as to generate a magnetic flux interlinked to the arc between side plates 5. Thus, the arc is moved to the side of an exhaust hole 2 and extended in order to be suppressed. In this case, the generated arc gas is exhausted to the exhaust hole 2 as shown in the arrow mark while the part of arc gas is refluxed as shown in the narrow mark to the side of a contact part 1 having a negative pressure through a refluxing passage 7 so as to be in negative pressure, thus the extension of the arc being promoted. When, the part of the arc gas is refluxed in the refluxing passage 7, it is cooled at the reflux space 9 of a heat absorber 10 while carbon and molton metal powder are absorbed to the heat absorber 10. Therefore, it is possible to promote the extension of the arc and prevent the insulation around the contact part 1 from deteriorating.

On the other hand, each of current transformers CTs outputs current signal in proportion with a current of the circuit to be inputted to a current-voltage converter 11 via current input terminals in a relationship of reversed polarity with each other. The current- voltage converter 11 converts the current signals from the current transformer CTs into an AC voltage in the additional condition by means of a signal conversion resistor. From the AC voltage, an effective voltage value is calculated by an effective value calculation circuit 12 to be outputted as a DC voltage by being amplified. Consequently, a pulse signal having a frequency corresponding to the DC voltage is outputted from a voltage-frequency convertor 13.
