    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simulate the behavior of a water treatment process and the quality of the treated water with higher precision while reflecting fluctuations of the number of various microbes contained in activated sludge and those of a series of decomposing powers of the various microbes. SOLUTION: A method for simulating biological water treatment comprises a step of treating with activated sludge the water to be treated in a bioreaction tank having a water phase containing activated sludge and the water to be treated. The number of each kind of various microbes, which are contained in activated sludge and participate in the decomposition of a substance to be treated in the water, is decided by using a gene analysis method. The quality of the treated water is simulated by using an activated sludge model on the basis of: an active parameter which is calculated by using the microbe concentration calculated by using the decided number of each kind of various microbes and the activity calculated by using a decomposition rate of the substance to be treated in activated sludge; component values of conditions of the water treatment process; specifications of the bioreaction tank to be used; operation conditions of the bioreaction tank; and the number of each kind of various microbes.
