摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain excellent characteristics in a low temperature region, by using a polarization beam splitter, which has only multilayered films on one surface in this structure, for each of a polarizer and an analyzer. CONSTITUTION:A polarizer 1 and an analyzer 3 are formed with polarization beam splitters. Each splitter has multilayered films, e.g., MgF2, ZnS and MgF2, on one surface of a substrate. A Faraday effect element 2 is arranged between the polarizer 1 and the analyzer 3. Since the multilayered films are provided in the polarization beam splitter, this sensor has a function for dividing electric vector into a component, which is in parallel with an incident plane to the polarization beam splitter and a component, which is vertical to the incident plane to the polarization beam splitter, when light in a random polarization state is inputted. In this way, excellent characteristics of the polarizer and the analyzer are obtained even in a low temperature region.

摘要： PURPOSE:To eliminate excessive evaporation of coolant caused by an eddy current by providing a dummy spacer composed of an insulating member with a small heat, capacity whose outside surface is covered with fiber reinforced plastic which is made in such a manner that glass cloths are laminated and impregnated with epoxy resin and the resin is heated and cured in a coolant storage. CONSTITUTION:A dummy spacer composed of an insulating member 13 with a small heat capacity whose outside surface is covered with fiber reinforced plastic 14 which is made in such a manner that glass cloths are laminated and impregnated with epoxy resin and the resin is heated and cured is provided in a coolant storage in which a cryogenic equipment is housed. As the small heat capacity and light weight dummy spacer is provided, the space in the coolant storage is filled with the dummy spacer to reduce the filling quantity of expensive coolant such as liquid helium. Moreover, the cooling can be performed easily and workability can be improved and the generation of an eddy current is avoided and the evaporation of the coolant such as liquid helium can be suppressed.

摘要： PURPOSE:To uniformize current distribution in superconductor and stably operate a superconducting coil by arranging a heater outside of the superconducting coil. CONSTITUTION:A solenoid coil is formed of superconductor formed by twisting NbTi superconducting lines and an induction heater is arranged outside. The solenoid coil is permitted to be in the superconducting condition while cooling it by liquid helium. The current distribution of the solenoid coil is monitored and when the current distribution becomes nonuniform, the coil is partially heated by the external heater. The heated part is temporarily permitted to be in a normal conductive condition, however, the current distribution becomes uniform. At that point, heating by the heater is stopped and the superconducting condition is allowed again. Thus, quenching is prevented and stable operation of the superconducting coil is allowed.

A passage 20 is formed in the tube 10 of the innermost layer conductors to freely feed the fluid between the interior of the tube of the conductors and the interior of the freezing tube.
