    • PURPOSE:To cool legs of a container of helium which are hard to cool not only from the inside of the container but also from lower ends, to shorten a cooling duration and to reduce a thermal stress by a method wherein a circulation passage of a coolant is formed inside of heat-insulating support legs. CONSTITUTION:Heat-insulating support legs 7 which are installed between lower parts of legs 2a of a container of helium and a bottom face of a vacuum container 4 are composed of, e.g., fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP) pipes; liquid nitrogen, low-temperature gas helium or the like inside a circulation pipe 8 for a coolant from the outside of the vacuum container 4 is supplied to the inside of the pipes; the coolant is guided to the outside of the vacuum container 4 through the circulation pipe 8. The arbitrary low-temperature gas helium during a preliminary cooling stage is fed through an injection pipe 5; it cools a coil 1 and the container of helium 2 sufficiently. If the liquid nitrogen or the low-temperature gas helium which is supplied from the circulation pipe 8 for the coolant is fed to the inside of the heat-insulating support legs 7, the legs 2a of the container of helium which are hard to cool are cooled from lower ends. By this setup, a cooling duration can be shortened; if a flow rate at both legs is controlled, a thermal stress can be reduced considerably.

    • PURPOSE:To improve stability to the superconductive condition by setting the relation values such as the critical temperature of a superconductor, the applied magnetic field, the heat flux by joule heat when the superconductive cable changed to the normal conductive condition, the transmissibility of an insulating substance, the temperature of liquid He, etc., to the values which meet the cover thickness of the insulating substance and the specified formula. CONSTITUTION:The thickness t of an insulating substance 4 such as formal, etc., which covers the surface of a superconductive cable 3 constituted of a superconductive substance 1 consisting of NbTi or Nb3Sn and a stabilizing material 2 consisting of Cu, is made to the thickness that can meet such conditions as formula I so as to constitute a superconductor. That is when the critical temperature of the superconductive cable 3 is defined as Tc, the applied magnetic field, B, the heat flux by the joule heat when the superconductive cable 3 changed to the normal conductive condition, Qg, the heat transmissibility of the insulating substance 4, k, and the temperature of liquid He, Tc, the cover thickness t of the insulating substance 4 is constituted in the thickness that meets the formula I.

    • PURPOSE:To be capable of sufficiently resisting an electromagnetic force exerted on a superconducting coil even at an extremely low temperature by a method wherein a cushion spacer is arranged at a periphery of the superconducting coil, a cotter is inserted between this cushion spacer and a container of helium, a thermoset resin is heated and hardened and the superconducting coil is held so that the superconducting performance can be enhanced. CONSTITUTION:Cushion spacers 5 are inserted between a superconducting coil 1 and inner cotters 4b. The cushion spacers are filler materials composed of a thermoset resin as follows: it is viscous to such an extent that it can be adapted to an outer shape of the coil when the coil is assembled; it is hardened if it is heated; it displays the sufficient strength capable of resisting an electromagnetic force in an extremely low temperature state. The cushion spacers 5 are deformed by an insertion pressure of the inner cotters 4b in accordance with protruding parts and recessed parts on the surface of the superconducting coil 1; they come into contact with the whole periphery of the superconducting coil 1 uniformly and closely. If a superconducting magnet is heated as a whole in this state, the cushion spacers 5 are hardened in such a way that they are adapted to the shape of the surface of the superconducting coil 1 ; accordingly, they can then display the strength which can resist the electromagnetic force at the extremely low temperature.
