    • PURPOSE:To correspond to an electric power system control such as an automatic frequency control or the like, by permitting a regulation of a motor output in accordance with an external command signal while water is pumped up. CONSTITUTION:When a pump head H and a motor output command P0E are given, a motor output is given to a secondary winding phase angle calculation unit 16 so that a secondary winding excitation amount setting unit 17 sets an exciting amount of a secondary winding considering an actual rotational speed N and phase units 22a-23c control excitation for causing an actual motor output to coincide with the command signal. On the other hand, when the pump head H and the motor output command P0E are input, an optimum guide vane opening function generator 33 produces an optimum guide vane opening YOPT. A servo system 14 for operating a guide vane is controlled based on the output for regulating an amount of water passing through a pump. With this arrangement, operation is effected at a rotational speed of maximum efficiency which is different depending on an output.

    • PURPOSE:To assure a sure pumping start-up by computing an optimum rotation speed command and an optimum guide vane opening command by preliminarily setting the actual rotation speed at a high level upon start-up, and then by controlling the actual rotation speed to decrease to the optimum rotation speed. CONSTITUTION:When a motor output command POE is given, an optimum rotation speed NOPT is output from an optimum rotation speed function generator 30 according to the command POE and a pump head H. The deflection between the optimum rotation speed NOPT and an actual rotation speed N is then calculated by an adding unit 31. The signal of the deflection is output to a guide vane compensation signal circuit 32. An optimum guide vane opening signal YOPT is output from an opening guide vane opening function generator 33 with the command POE and the pump head H as the inputs. The signal synthesized by the signal YOPT and a guide vane compensation signal DELTAYN are given to a hydraulic servo mechanism 14 from the adding unit 34 to control the opening of the guide vane. The actual rotation speed is controlled such that it is once increased before the actual pumping operation beings and, upon start-up, is converged thereafter on the optimum rotation speed.
